The rock hyrax (Procavia capensis), also called rock badger, rock rabbit, and Cape hyrax. It is one of the four living species of the order Hyracoidea, and the only living species in the genus Procavia. Like all hyraxes, it is a medium-sized terrestrial mammal, with short ears and tail.
Evidence supporting a common ancestor for hyraxes, elephants and the sirenians comes from some unusual shared characteristics. Like elephants, manatees, and dugongs, male hyraxes lack a scrotum and their testicles remain nestled in their abdominal cavity. The tusks of hyraxes develop from the incisor teeth, like elephant tusks; in most other tusked mammals, the tusks develop from the canine teeth. And hyraxes, like elephants, have flattened, hoof-like nails on the tips of their toes, rather than the curved claws seen on some other mammals.
Hyraxes typically live in groups of 10 - 80 animals, and forage as a group. They have been reported to use sentries: one or more animals take up position on a vantage point and issue alarm calls on the approach of predators.
They have multi-chambered stomachs. Although they are not ruminants, hyraxes have three-chambered stomachs filled with symbiotic bacteria that help break down the plants they eat. Baby hyraxes are not born with the bacteria they will need to digest plant matter, so to obtain it they eat the poop of adult hyraxes.

Encyclia cordigera pseudobulbs. The name Orchid comes from the latin orchis which means testicle. This is familiar to folks in the medical world where cryptorchid is a term that means undescended testicle and the medical term for neutering a male dog or cat is orchidectomy. This closeup of the pseudobulbs of Encyclia cordigera I think nicely illustrates how the name applies.

Not a 'cover' of the iconic Wall Street bull, original art piece by Macedonian sculptor Darko Dukovski. A street exhibit in the country's capital, Skopje. Despite the many worldwide instances, most are not even inspired by the NYC one, each culture has its own angle on bulls (the one thing in common is they do represent strength and energy everywhere, for obvious reasons :) In some places they also represent virility (potency/fertility), hence frequent emphasis on that anatomy in the interpretations.
Here the statue on its own would probably not impress me much, but I stopped to capture the curious kid, for the contrast and added symbolism.

Orchidaceae is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with blooms that are often colourful and often fragrant, commonly known as the orchid family. Along with the Asteraceae, they are one of the two largest families of flowering plants, with between 21,950 and 26,049 currently accepted species, found in 880 genera. Selecting which of the two families is larger is still under debate, as concrete numbers on such enormous families are constantly in flux. Regardless, the number of orchid species equals more than twice the number of bird species, and about four times the number of mammal species. The family also encompasses about 6â11% of all seed plants. The largest genera are Bulbophyllum (2,000 species), Epidendrum (1,500 species), Dendrobium (1,400 species) and Pleurothallis (1,000 species). The family also includes Vanilla (the genus of the vanilla plant), Orchis (type genus), and many commonly cultivated plants such as Phalaenopsis and Cattleya. Moreover, since the introduction of tropical species in the 19th century, horticulturists have produced more than 100,000 hybrids and cultivars. The name comes from the Ancient Greek á½ÏÏÎ¹Ï (órkhis), literally meaning "testicle", because of the shape of the root. Carl Linnaeus classified the family as Orchidaceae. Orchid was introduced in 1845 by John Lindley in School Botany, due to an incorrect attempt to extract the Latin stem (orchis) from Orchidaceae. The Greek myth of Orchis explains the origin of the plants. Orchis, the son of a nymph and a satyr, came upon a festival of Dionysus (Bacchus) in the forest. He drank too much, and attempted to rape a priestess of Dionysus. For his insult, he was torn apart by the Bacchanalians. His father prayed for him to be restored, but the gods instead changed him into a flower.
These flowers were previously called Orchis, Satyrion (Satyrion feminina), or "ballockwort".

"Very well. Where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low-grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a 15-year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When I was insolent, I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds. Pretty standard really. At the age of 12, I received my first scribe. At the age of 14, an Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it's breathtaking I suggest you try it."
According to popular belief, running your hand over the horns, snout and testicles of the Charging Bull, is to guarantee a lot of luck and financial success!
It is certainly worth trying, it’s true…

Tanuki have been part of Japanese folklore since ancient times. The legendary tanuki is reputed to be mischievous and jolly, a master of disguise and shapeshifting, but somewhat gullible and absent-minded.
Statues of tanuki can be found outside many Japanese temples and restaurants, especially noodle shops. These statues often wear big, straw hats and carry bottles of sake in one hand, and a promissory note or empty purse in the other hand. Tanuki statues always have large bellies. The statues also usually show humorously large testicles, typically hanging down to the floor or ground, although this feature is sometimes omitted in contemporary sculpture.
Kylix decorated with a scene representing the Haloa or Aloa (Ἁλῶα) festival in honor od Demeter. The interior decoration features a nude woman – presumably to be thought of as a “hetaira” – who is embracing or setting upright a massive phallus inscribed KALE - feminine adjective for ‘beautiful’ - around which another woman dances.
According to a recent proposal (J. Cotter, ‘ΟΡΧΙΣ: Testicle, Testiculate and Glans Penis’, CQ NS 67, 2017) some passages of Aristophanes, Plato, Athenaeus and others suggest that φαληρίς (feminine substantive used normally for the bird ‘coot’) had, via a folk etymology, become synonymous with the masculine noun φάλης, phallus. According to this proposal, the feminine adjective KALE would be referred to the phallus itself, and the noun the viewer is expected to supply with it would be φαληρίς = φάλης..

Someone was feeding the crows with peanuts, and this rook took the opportunity to put one in its crop. It stayed for a while like this, I do not know what it expected to do with it, as obviously it was not the season to feed nestlings ..
I sent the photo to a friend and he said that this bird had a testicle below the chin 😣

City Hall in London is the headquarters of the Greater London Authority and the Mayor of London. It stands on the south bank of the River Thames, in the More London development by Tower Bridge. Designed by Norman Foster it opened in July 2002.
The building has an unusual bulbous shape, intended to reduce the building's surface area and thus improve energy efficiency. It has been compared variously to Darth Vader's helmet, a misshapen egg, a woodlouse or a motorcycle helmet. London Mayor Ken Livingstone referred to it as a "glass testicle". Its designers reportedly saw the building as a giant sphere hanging over the Thames, but opted for a more conventionally rooted building instead. The building has no front or back on conventional terms but derives its shape from a modified sphere.
City Hall was constructed on a site formerly occupied by wharves serving the Pool of London. The building does not belong to the GLA but is leased under a 25-year rent. It forms part of a larger development called More London, including offices and shops. Next to City Hall is a sunken amphitheatre called The Scoop, which is used in the summer months for open-air performances; it is not, however, part of the GLA's jurisdiction.
A 500 metre (1,640 foot) helical walkway, reminiscent of that in New York's Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum ascends the full height of the building. At the top of the ten-story building is an exhibition and meeting space called "London's Living Room," with an open viewing deck which is occasionally open to the public. The walkway provides views of the interior of the building, and is intended to symbolise transparency; a similar device was used by Foster in his design for the rebuilt Reichstag in Germany.
City Hall is not in the City of London, whose headquarters is in the Guildhall north of the Thames. The predecessors of the Greater London Authority, namely the Greater London Council and the London County Council, had their headquarters at County Hall, upstream on the South Bank. Although County Hall's old council chamber is still intact, it is unavailable for use by the GLA due to the building's conversion into, amongst other things, a luxury hotel, amusement arcade and aquarium.

Petra tou Romiou (Rock of the Greek), also known as Aphrodite's Rock, is a sea stack in the area of Paphos, Cyprus.
The present name Petra tou Romiou (Rock of the Greek) associates the place with the exploits of the hero Basil as told in the Digenes Akritas Folksongs. Legend tells that Basil hurled the huge rock from the Troodos Mountains to keep off the invading Saracens.
According to the ancient Greek myth, this rock is the site of the birth of Aphrodite (Venus for the Romans), the goddess of beauty and love.
Gaia (Mother Earth) asked one of her sons, Cronus, to mutilate his father, Uranus (Sky). Cronus cut off Uranus' testicles and threw them into the sea. A white foam appeared, from which a maiden arose, the waves first taking her to Kythera and then bringing her to Cyprus. This maiden was Aphrodite.

The Southern Right Whale. Hermanus, South Africa. Oct/2015
The southern right whale (Eubalaena australis) is a baleen whale, one of three species classified as right whales belonging to the genus Eubalaena. Like other right whales, the southern right whale is readily distinguished from others by the callosities on its head, a broad back without a dorsal fin, and a long arching mouth that begins above the eye. Its skin is very dark grey or black, occasionally with some white patches on the belly. The right whale's callosities appear white due to large colonies of cyamids (whale lice). It is almost indistinguishable from the closely related North Atlantic and the North Pacific right whales, displaying only minor skull differences. It may have fewer callosities on its head and more on its lower lips than the two northern species. Approximately 10,000 southern right whales are spread throughout the southern part of the Southern Hemisphere.
The size of an adult female is 15 m (49 ft)[12] and can weigh up to 47 tonnes (46 long tons; 52 short tons), with the larger records of 17.5–18 m (57–59 ft) in length and 80 tonnes (79 long tons; 88 short tons) in weight, making them slightly smaller than other right whales in Northern Hemisphere. The testicles of right whales are likely to be the largest of any animal, each weighing around 500 kg (1,100 lb). This suggests that sperm competition is important in the mating process. Right whales cannot cross the warm equatorial waters to connect with the other (sub)species and (inter)breed: their thick layers of insulating blubber make it impossible for them to dissipate their internal body heat in tropical waters. However, based on historical records and unconfirmed sightings in modern periods, E. australis actually do occur in equatorial waters.
The proportion and numbers of molten-coloured individuals are notable in this species compared with the other species in the Northern Hemisphere. Some whales remain white even after growing up.

Venezuala. During the anual feria (festival / fair) for agriculture in San Cristobal, the Coleo (tail) contest is one of the most popular activities. A bunch of cowboys get in a rodeolike court and hunt a young bull until they catch the tail. With a sideways pull they topple over the bull to score a point.

Birthplace of Aphrodite
Gaia (Mother Earth) asked one of her sons, Cronus, to mutilate his father, Uranus (Sky). Cronus cut off Uranus' testicles and threw them into the sea. A white foam appeared from which a maiden arose, the waves first taking her to Kythera and then bringing her to Cyprus. The maiden, named Aphrodite, went to the assembly of gods from Cyprus. The Romans widely referred to her as Venus.
Aphrodite attracted a large cult following in Pafos, which was eventually crushed by the Romans. This is evident from the Sanctuary of Aphrodite in Old Pafos kouklia.
Aphrodite was known for lustful love more than romantic love.
A myth states if you swim around the Aphrodite Rock, you will be blessed with eternal beauty. (wiki)
…hope you all have a great weekend! =)
[Intro]
One, two, a one, two, three
Now red solo cup is the best receptacle
For barbecues, tailgates, fairs and festivals
And you, sir, do not have a pair of testicles
If you prefer drinkin' from glass
Hey, red solo cup is cheap and disposable
In fourteen years they are decomposable
And unlike my home they are not foreclosable
Freddie Mac can kiss my ass, woo!
Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you, red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party
Now I really love how you're easy to stack
But I really hate how you're easy to crack
'Cause when beer runs down in front of my pack
Well, that, my friends, is quite yucky
But I have to admit that the ladies get smitten
Admirin' at how sharply my first name is written
On you with a Sharpie when I get to hittin'
On them, to help me get lucky
Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you, red solo cup, I lift you up,
Proceed to party, proceed to party
Now I've seen you in blue and I've seen you in yellow
But only you red will do for this fellow
'Cause you are the Abbott into my Costello
And you are the Fruit to my Loom
(Here we go now!)
Red solo cup, you're more than just plastic
you're more than amazing, you're more than fantastic
And believe me that I'm not the least bit sarcastic
When I look at you and say,
"Red solo cup, you're not just a cup (No, no, God, no)
You're my—you're my friend, yeah (Lifelong)
Thank you for being my friend."
Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
Let's have a party, let's have a party
I love you, red solo cup,
Wow! What up? What up?
I lift you up,
Proceed to party,
(Let's have a party)
Proceed to party
(...them mother...)
Red solo cup, I fill you up
Let's have a party, let's have a party
Let's have a party, let's have a party
Red solo cup, I lift you up,
Let's have a party, proceed to party
Solo cup
Solo cup
Solo cup
Solo cup
Solo cup
Solo cup
Solo cup
A huge thanks to Paxton Bailey for never letting my cup run dry!
