This is part of the tests that i made with my new Tamron 28-75.

Canon Rebel XS + Tamron 28-75 @ 75mm 1/250s f4 ISO100

test shoot in brooklyn.

Testing out differing lighting, and color edit types.

Here can be seen the differences in color, even with the edition the X10 photos do not deal with colors very well.

NEF vs EXR mode (D90 as reference)

EXR mode vs P mode .NEF processed.

The D90 is just a reference, I am not testing X10 vs D90 (very different cameras, cost and lenses)

Tripod was used, IS mode in OFF. I took several photos and I choose the best ones.

Today I made some testshots with my new selfmade Pinhole camera, the PinOli 4X5. Just to test that it is working and has no light leaks and to test some exposuretimes.

I used 135 film attached to the cassettes with sticky tape to test it.

Le test complet de l'hybride Pro Nikon Z 9, photos et mon avis

Test Roll of Lomography CN 400 in my new Lomogrpahy Konstruktor DIY SLR.

VERY wide depth of field, the ring was about 1m or so away and the background is almost in as much focus.

Overall the pictures are okay. I don't think I'd be using it that often, the 1/80 shutter speed is just a bit too slow unless you stop and stand still.

Also it likes to eat film.

This was a shot to test out the slide rail I bought today, as well as to test using the Summar for Macro Photography.

Prior to bottling you should test SO2 levels to make sure you won't have an explosive refermentation.

Nearly a year after his encounter with the Mandarin, Tony Stark stood in his newest suit inside of his newly completed expansion to his father’s laboratory. Keeping himself spry by loosening his arms and hopping in place, Tony looked to his butler Jarvis to say,

“Ok, Mark VIII thrusters test in 3…2…” Tony closed his eyes and placed his palms at his sides. At first, the propulsion system flickered, but then he found himself slowly rising off of the ground. He had been able to achieve this before with every suit since the Mark I, but this suit’s propulsion system was designed for long distance hovering and flight. Stabilizing himself in the air, Tony said, “Whoa…whoa…ok…I’m flying…this is good,” Looking around, he called to Jarvis, saying, “Activate the training program.” The elderly butler raced over to a control panel where he entered several commands until several virtual rings appeared out of thin air in front of Tony. Keeping a consistent altitude, nearly falling in every direction while doing so, Tony managed to fly through the first ring, muttering to himself, “This is already better than the Mark V did…” Balancing himself further along, Tony found himself through three more rings before he felt the repulsers in his boots begin to shoot out a little more chaotically than his hands. Saying, “No…no…stop it boots!” Tony suddenly swerved out of the way of the fifth ring and ended up crashing into the wall. Rising up the wall, scratching up the suit all the way, Tony was nearly about to hit the ceiling when he aimed his repulsers at it and managed to stop himself just before impact. Looking down at Jarvis from his position, he saw the old butler run for a fire extinguisher but quickly called after him, “Wait…wait I’m gonna try to finish.”

“Sir, you’re completely off course…and the timer’s about to run out…” Jarvis replied as Tony managed to turn himself around and shoot down towards the floor, narrowly missing the ground to fly through the fifth ring. However, just after this the repulsers suddenly cut out, sending Tony crashing into the floor. He rolled for a moment before finishing on his back, lying his head back in defeat.

“Shut the program down Jarvis.” Tony said in an annoyed voice as he pushed up the helmet to the Mark VIII and walked towards his workspace. Jarvis did as he said before assuring Tony,

“Don’t worry. You’ll get it one day. This Mark VIII already made it farther than the other ones.”

“If I’m going to fly around a city, I’ll need to fly through all the rings to approve the suit for field use. Until then I guess I’ll be getting a lot of strange looks on the subway.” Tony replied as he sat down on a work bench he had created. Next to it, Jarvis found an enormous mold that seemed to resemble the head of one of Tony’s suits.

“What in the world is that?” He asked, looking at it incredulously.

“He was gonna be a heavy lifter…would’ve called him Igor or something, a reference I’m sure you’d understand. Got scrapped because I’m devoting all my time and effort into getting one of these to fly in the field. I’m so close Jarvis…there’s one small piece of the puzzle I’m missing.” Tony looked to his left at a chalkboard full of physics equations dealing with velocity and acceleration at certain weights just as Jarvis said,

“Well, how about this: I’ll go make us some coffee, and after your weekly meeting with that nice, young Industries board representative we can try the propulsion test again.” Tony raised his eyebrows and replied,

“Forgot about that meeting,” As he grabbed as many blueprints as he could, Tony hurried out of the room after Jarvis, saying, “White chocolate for me, as much whipped cream as you can physically fit in the cup, and preferably capped with a lid. Don’t want to spill it on the VIII.”

I realised i'd not taken any pictures at all with my 18-35, so had to do a test at 18mm, that's it, nothing new to see here.

.RAF conversion results (July 2012)

The Fuji sensor arrangement makes the conversion RAF to JPG challenging for everybody. I tested 3 applications but still have not found the “Holy Grail” of Fujifilm sensors.

Silkypix (provided): the images are soft, have a “blue” tone and can not solve the greens very well. The results are so mediocre that I thought it was a problem with the camera. Anyway colors are uniform and noise is undetectable so can be useful in some cases.

Lightroom 4: is a good compromise, not so sharp but not so noisy and plenty of controls. But you need to pay for it, learn to use it, and it is not the “official” converter. If you have it, use it.

Therapee 4: gives the sharper and noisier results, it is free and can give good results. The photo size is the same than in .RAF, which is smaller than 4000x3000. It is a good complement for Silkypix users.

JPG from the camera: results are the best and are not time consuming, but you have few controls over it and need to be preset. M size (6mp) is sharper than L size (12mp), Astia film and highlights in low are advisable too.

I wish some company develop a better product to convert these .RAF files easily and better, meanwhile I shoot JPG and for important events RAF + JPG, a big SD card is mandatory.

Good shoots and better conversions ;)
