The Utah Badlands make you feel like you are on a different planet. Until you look closely and see the squiggly lines, like someone dropped giant hair and then you realize those are the tracks made by ATV's. Both the miniscule nature of humans as well as the catastrophic impact they leave on the terrain depicted at the same time. For now lets ignore the negative, and focus on the positive light. Have a wonderful weekend.
The third day trek was tough...the glacial moraine land was fragile and gradient was steep...but never denied us of its majestic beauty.....taken ahead of Thar Udiyar campsite on way to Bankund bend....on trek to Amritganga valley in Garhwal Himalayas, India
Lower Mustang which is at the northmost part of Nepal has semi arid desert like and rocky terrain and we trekked through huge sided valley of the Kaligandaki from the Marpha town to Jomsom.
Mom and the kid together again at the mountain top. The terrain is very unusual, a mixture of colourful rocks and caves and grassy meadows. The whole herd is situated close by. I expect this is where the wolf confrontation was spotted since it is quite flat. Obviously this was quite a distance from where I have access even with telephoto the goats were tiny. Also obvious is that this is definitely no-man's territory totally inaccessible and pretty hostile terrain.
My wife thinks that's a hobbit residence built into the cliff, I rather think it is a Stargate.

There are several bizarre geological formations spreading over a mile or so (0.85 mile / 1.36 km) near the village Mikrovalto, Kozanē County, west Macedonia, Greece. It took the formations thousands of years to be created mainly by corrosion of the surrounding ground, according to geology experts. Every single formation resembles a chimney (colloquially aka “boucharí”), so the entire area or geological park has got the toponym “Bouchária” (plural form of the bouchari word).
The formations look like pillars or columns with a height of 7–20 ft (2-6 m) approximately. They consist of a mixture of sand and clay etc. adhered together by ferrous oxides and silicon dioxide. There are slates (or slabs of schist) capping the high pillars.
Within the same park there are also “nochtária,” looking like numerous confluent pyramids. The nochtaria lack schist caps, but otherwise their composition is the same as the Boucharia's.
Warning: The phallus-shaped Bouchtaria have long been associated with the occult and several superstitions discouraging the local inhabitants from approaching them at night; tradition has it that the formations are fairies' or even demons' quarters or dwellings! Please mind your steps whilst walking the well-worn path!

Another shot in my terrain series. I just cleaned the truck from yesterday's mess and now I've got a muddy truck again... Im going to have to clean it off for the snow picture later on.
An Icelandic horse stands in a field just north of Hveragerði, Iceland near the golf course.
The Icelandic horse is a unique breed that descends from an ancient breed of horse brought by Norwegian settlers to Iceland in around 1100 AD. Archeologists confirm that this breed of horse is now extinct everywhere but in Iceland where its isolation preserved it. The breed, known simply as the Icelandic Horse, is known for its surefooted ability to cross rugged terrain.
It displays two gaits In addition to those common to other breeds, the typical walk, trot, and canter/gallop. The first, called the tölt, is a four-beat lateral ambling gait that is known for its explosive acceleration and ground covering speed while providing a comfortable ride. The second gait is the skeið, or "flying pace". Skeið is fast and smooth and used for pacing races and not long distance travel. Using this gait a horse may be able to reach up to 30 miles per hour (~50 km/hr).
The Icelandic breed is a small horse weighing between 330 and 380 kilograms (730 and 840 lb) and standing an average of 132 to 142 cm (52 to 56 inches) high. It is known for its spirited temperament. The breed comes in a variety of colors and color patterns. The Icelandic language includes more than 100 names for colors/ color patterns exhibited by the Icelandic horse. Some have very impressive manes or as I say “hairdos”. Over time, the Icelandic horse has developed into several strains.
Because the Icelandic horse is hardy and long-lived it has become popular internationally with large populations in Europe and North America. The horses, in Iceland, have few native diseases. To protect the breed, Icelandic law prevents horses from being imported into the country and does not allow for the return of exported horses to Iceland.

Except for giving Bob's idea of sculpting the border to match the large impact crater if I can sort the parts.
Moab, Utah USA.
Awesome terrain in Utah USA, as snow clouds build over the horizon.
On the outskirts of the town of Moab, this region is surrounded by Arches National Park, Canyonlands, & Deadhorse State Park.
One of my favourite destinations in America.

A closer look at the bottom side of the flexible terrain .
Essentially it's a lattice of large leaf elements, reinforced with some 1L bars with clips in the places where no anti-stud is present. The top is 1x2 plates.
