Kayavarohan is an ancient town near Vadodara, believed to have existed through each of the Four Ages. According to mythology and puranas, from here Lord Shiva transmigrated into the form of a Brahmin child. Thus the place came to be known as Kayavarohan [Kaya (Body) + Avarohan (Descent) = Where the body of the Lord has descended]. It is an ancient town believed to have existed through each of the Four Ages according to the Hindus. According to a popularly held belief, it was from here that Lord Shiva in the guise of a child transmigrated after death and his body disappeared. Thus the place came to be known as Kayavarohan
Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, popularly described as Sabarimala of the Women, one of the ancient temples in Kerala, dedicated to the Goddess Kannaki (Bhagavathi) - one of the forms of Parvathi, worshipped as the Supreme Mother Attukalamma, situated on the banks of the Killi river, run by Attukal Bhagavathy Temple Trust.
Attukal Pongala is the main festival of this temple, falls in February or March. Millions of women gather every year in the month of Kumbham(a malayalam month) around this temple and prepare Pongala (rice cooked with jaggery, ghee, coconut as well as other ingredients) in the open in small pots to please the Goddess Kannaki.The Attukal Pongala is also reached Guinness Book of World Records.
During temple festival season, some special type Offerings there, called 'Vilakku kettu,' huge structures made of pith, decorated with shining paper and garlands, and usually with the image of the goddess, are carried to the temple in a procession. Some of these look like miniature temples. Tender coconut frond and plantain leaf-stalks are also used in making these.

In 1926 Chong Sen Yee and his wife Choong Chan Yoke who came from Jiao Ling province of China, discovered Perak Tong.On approval from the Perak State Government they started to develop the cave temple. As Chong Sen Yee was mainly involved in the planning and development of the cave temple his wife went all out to look for donations to carry out the plan, locally and internationally. After more than 50 years of diligent and careful work in and around the cave temple Perak Tong has become one of the best cave temples in Malaysia. Chong Sen Yee passed away in 1980 and his wife Choong Chan Yoke in 1983, handing the heritage to the son Chong Yin Chat. He put even greater effort into the temple and thus enhance Perak Tong into an international tourist spot in Perak. There are several major attraction available at the temple like the beautiful landscape flower garden in front of the temple. As you enter the temple, you will greeted with a 40 feet tall Buddha statue. The inner part of the cave has natural limestone wonders and decorated with statue of deities.There are also colorful paintings and calligraphic writing by Chong Yin Chat himself and among others. There is a staircase of about 450 steps, which takes you right to the top of the limestone hill, where one can have an overall view of Ipoh City and its surroundings.
This large Ancient Egyptian temple complex perches on the east bank of the Nile in the city today known as Luxor (historically know as Thebes) and was founded in 1400 BC.
Known in Egyptian as "the southern harem", the temple was dedicated to the Theban Triad of Amun, Mut, and Chons and was built as the focus of the annual Opet Festival, in which a cult statue of Amun was paraded down the Nile from nearby Karnak Temple ( see Egypt set for photos) to stay there for a while, with his consort Mut, in a celebration of fertility.

Located in the centre of Angkor Thom, it was once the state temple for Jayavarman VII. The Buddhist temple was modified by later kings and was remained an important temple until the area was deserted.
ayon was built by King Jayavarman VII in the late 12th or early 13th century. It was the last state temple built during the Angkor period and the only one which was a Mahayana temple dedicated to Buddha.
King Jayavarman VII built the temple to be the centrepiece of his great building program which included many temples and public works such as temples, hospitals, reservoirs and bridges.
After King Jayavarman VII died, subsequent kings adapted and changed Bayon temple. Under King Jayavarman VIII, Cambodia reverted to a Hindu country and temple was altered. Later in the 14th and 15th centuries, Cambodia became a Theravada Buddhist country and the temple was altered yet again.
