Taken on Driftwood Beach, Jekyll Island, GA. What a tangled piece of wood! It looked like a tempest to me.

She reminded me so much of myself that I had to get her
I was initially going to call her Mary, after myself, but I like Tempest too. Idk.

In the Upper Niagara River, the Old Scow and the International Water Control Dam are landmarks. The water flows fast and the cloud cover adds to the powerful image of the river.
The Tempest is a play by William Shakespeare and I was asked to create a poster as part of a live brief for the Pendleton Shakespeare Company. The poster was created with Photoshop, Illustrator and a texture created using watercolour powder. There is a strong use of the colour black, connoting many different elements from magic to deceit. The background texture depicts the element of the ocean, a key part of the play. The three circles act as focal points for the typography, and the linking lines not only show the movement of time, places and Islands but help guide the eye through all the information. Both the Brush Script and the Serif typeface give a traditional tone, reminding us of Shakespearean times. The use of geometry and textured background give the poster an equally contemporary feel; connoting a modern interpretation of a classic. Date: February 2013
The Stick Up Kids really define the kind of art Creative Tempest grew up on, murals with tags where the names are almost unreadable, which exist just as an excuse to paint bold lines, shapes and colors in places where everyone would see, where you weren’t allowed. It is immediately clear in these paintings that these artists are not simply after name recognition, but rebellion against a society that would build a blank canvas and demand it never be painted. These artists bring color and with it life into places desperate for revitalization. They inspired us, and so we will let them inspire you. Find out more at www.creativetempest.com

Argueably the best looking Pontiac body of the 1960's, the 326 Tempest was the "little brother" of the GTO. As seen on the street in Port Orford, Oregon.
