There 's nothing like cool temperatures and fresh air to raise the spirits. during my forays to the Alabama Hills the temperature can get up into the 100's and when they do, this is where I seek refuge. At around 9000 ft in elevation the difference in temperature is about 15 degrees and there nothing better the a fine mist that floats away from the falls right onto your weary soul.

The temperatures are changing around here with the rollercoaster up and downs, we have had a week of foggy mornings.

This shot has been taken in Manarola during the blue hour, the temperature was around five degres and the waves were pretty high in the sea. The town is almost desert during winter, but always a beautiful subject to photograph.

Temperatures have been wild lately. Thursday the high was 30F, yesterday the high was 75F. Santa won't know what to think

Temperatures have been around -10 degrees and very snowy, this morning dove just sits and waits.

Today's another day with scorching hot temperatures in Mid-September!! So let me offer some welcome refreshment to all of us who are suffering from the heat :)

During the winter the temperature in Bariloche is around 3 degrees Celsius, reaching 8 degrees in the hottest times of the day and -4 degrees at dawn, reaching a thermal sensation of up to -16 degrees C in more extreme situations.

In July of that year, a terrible cold front coming from Antarctica lowered the temperature to -25 degrees for a few days.

Luckily I was not there yet :)))

After our 4 day heatwave when temperatures reached 40C, we have had a wet, cool day today - only 23C. I much prefer the cooler weather and the gardens are loving the rain.

I was going through my photos from our trip to the UK in 2009 and came across this photo of a Glasswing Butterfly that I took in the Butterfly House in Stratford upon Avon. I am really missing travel and don't know when we will be able to again. Probably not this year either.

Unlike the rest of Europe that are experiencing high temperatures, we in the Uk and particularly northern England are having a miserable wet and stormy July.

The following images were taken on a short morning walk in our local woodland before another wet cool day arrived.

Temperatures were increasing and the snow pack was beginning to melt, but this was the "Spring scene" at Grand Traverse Lighthouse State Park in mid March.

Cold temperatures have reached East Westphalia and despite the frost we used Sunday for a long afternoon hiking tour through the Große Torfmoor („Great Peat Moor“) near Lübbecke in the North of Westphalia. I prefer hiking there in Winter rather than in any other season. Frozen mud is not only more convenient, it is also safer to walk on...

Autumn, also known as fall in North American English, is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer to winter, in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere), when the duration of daylight becomes noticeably shorter and the temperature cools considerably. One of its main features in temperate climates is the shedding of leaves from deciduous trees. Some cultures regard the autumnal equinox as mid-autumn, while others with a longer temperature lag treat it as the start of autumn. Meteorologists (and most of the temperate countries in the southern hemisphere) use a definition based on Gregorian calendar months, with autumn being September, October, and November in the northern hemisphere, and March, April, and May in the southern hemisphere. 21421

DEW POINT

The dew point is the temperature at which dew would form assuming all other conditions remained the same. The dew point is a function of the air temperature and humidy. The dew point temperature can never be higher than the air temperature. If the dew point temp and air temp are the same, than the humidity must be 100%.

Though this episode begins in a more traditional non fiction way, with many facts about how many mushrooms perish when the snow falls and temperatures plummet, the episode evolves further with a more empathetic feel. Even a mushroom documentary film maker must show the human side to the mushrooms and how they can suffer. Thus, there is a definite arc to the episode with a thrilling culmination of the collective voices of the mushroom community as they proclaim the following poem:

For days, we witnessed the ominous

“Winter is Coming!"

Well, winter is here, with it’s equal

wonder and terror

We cling to each other

like words in a sentence

without as many spaces.

We are withered, weathered,

and struggling to survive.

Lost souls shivering below flying doves

Past selves and Future selves

Culminating in a grim present moment

How much longer must we suffer and

Yearn for each sliver of daylight?

Oh, won’t some sweet soul

Come gallantly along

Crunching on the oppressive white

Pick us up out of our misery

Tear us from the dark tree bark

With all the dirt that hides under fingernails

And eat us alive?

After weeks with temperatures around 30C I am a little bit fed up just taking shots of hot fields with blue skies. After a cold and long Winter we all longed for Spring and Summer. And our prayers were heard. Instantly and with immediate effect. If you also suffer from the heat take a look at a cold Winter evening around the banks of River Werre in Bad Oeynhausen, Ostwestfalen, Germany

Winter Sun....

February finds us locked in the middle of winter and the cold temperatures have frozen the ground; a blanket of fresh white snow covers the ground. The winter sun glimpses over the distant horizon, Painting the sky with a pale blue ad yellow glow.

The temperature drops very quickly after sunset, it was below 10 degrees Celsius that night.

By the time we had reached the far end of Winnats pass the temperature inversion had reached its peak and literally looked like a sea of mist, with just the hope valley cement works poking out above

Due to the pleasant seawater temperature and plenty of sunshine ( but a bit dull and foggy today ) , the Xiapu mudflats are rich in kelp, laver, oyster and yellow croakers. Locals living along the beach are mainly engaged in marine culture. The bamboo poles, fish nets and stone columns that are inserted in the mudflats are used to dry kelp, laver, oyster and other marine products. As the sun rises and sets, the tide rises and falls, the bamboo poles, fishing boats and fish nets form various spectacular scenery .

As the temperature outside has climbed closer to three digits, I started thinking about how I wish for ice or snow on days like these. The more I thought about it, I found I agree with Niels Bohr's statement.

Some of the pleasure in sharing quotations here is my love of learning about the people who spoke those words. You might want to check this link out if you are so inclined.

Away For The Season...

A brisk hike in the cold autumn air,. you can feel fall slipping away and winter slowly creeping in; the temperatures over the past two weeks has steadily dropped and today was no exception.

The maintenance staff at the park have already winter preparations under way; they have stacked picnic tables and dragged all the canoes off to the back of the shed for winter storage.

Eisige Zeiten - zu viel Wasser im See, hohe Wellen und eisige Temperaturen schaffen Kunstwerke

Icy times - too much water in the lake, high waves and icy temperatures create works of art

This is a quick shot taken en route to my evening location. I don't normally shoot this early in the evening, but i almost crashed the Adventure Wagon while cresting Countisbury Hill to be greeted by a temperature inversion rising from the ocean and almost fully engulfing Lynton town. Luckily there was a convenient lay by to hand..

Xinjiang, Cina 2015

I made this trip and I'm happy.

Every wildlife photographer, if you have the opportunity to travel should visit this location.

I have only visited the north part of Xinjiang and anyway we have traveled 3500 km.

It was not an easy trip, the temperature rose from 15-20 ° C in the capital and drops to -12 ° C on the borders with Russia and Mangolia.

Sorry for my bad English.

Thank you

Xinjiang,Cina 2015.

The trip here was spontaneous. Someone offered to meet the dawn on Istra and we supported everything, especially since the weather promised to be frosty. In winter, Istra practically does not freeze due to the large abundance of springs that feed the river. The temperature of the springs is about + 8C, so the river is heated in winter. In severe frosts, the river begins to soar, enveloping everything around with fluffy hoarfrost.

It was quite a cool morning, only -26 Celsius. There was a very dense fog over the river, we had to wait for the sun to rise in order to see at least anything. I was worried about photographic equipment, the tripod was covered with frost and it was very difficult to work with it. Well, it was quite an interesting experience.

Temperature today went up to 31,7°C, the warmest 1st of July since 1901 in NL.

So, let's sit in the shade..

In these freezing temperatures, I once again tried to freeze soap bubbles. Unfortunately, they did not turn out as I had hoped. Either they froze too quickly or too slowly. I constantly had to change batteries and had icy cold fingers. It wasn't really windless either. When some of the bubble liquid ran over my remote trigger and started to freeze, I gave up.

The lighting on the top floor has a different colour temperature than the lights further down, therefore the interesting colour cast.

One cold morning our sweet dog, Cooper, headed outside to drink some water. He seemed perplexed...staring at his bowl for quite a while. When he returned I noticed his water dish was full of frozen water. I just had to capture the liquid gold.

I have no idea if this Lady bug was on the Tulips and I brought her home or it was in the house,

Ladybugs usually survive the cold by hibernating. When the temperature drops their body functions slow down and they go to sleep, not to wake again until it gets warmer. amazing facts when Ladybug lives only 21 days,

In October they will come to the house thru cracks of shingles, They are 500 varieties in the USA and 5000 worldwide.
