Good Morning!
This is another image of one of the young gorillas at the NC Zoo. There are two boys there and they are a blast to watch. I'm not 100% sure if he was using the ring as a teething ring, but he did chew on it for a while.

This Siberian tiger cub is about 11 wks old.
She is just starting to get weaned off the bottle and is learning to take care of bodily functions on her own (up to this time she has needed a certain kind of simulation in order to induced them to do both. In the wild the mother takes care of this little bit of encouragement, until cubs are about this age, at which time they become "self motivated". If they are too young when "rescued" the staff needs to act for mama.
This youngster was taken away from an unlicenced private party by authorities.
As I said, Catty Shack Ranch Wildlife Sanctuary in Jacksonville, Fl, where I took these pics, is a licensed rescue facility and has 41 cats at the present time.
They have been in the rescue business for 27 years but have only been open to the pubic (weekends and special events only) for 10 years.
They have Siberian tigers, lions, cougars, spotted and black leopards, a serval, two coatimundis and
two arctic foxes. all were either donated or confiscated by the government.
They are not a zoo nor do they breed the animals. When an animal comes to their 10 acre facility it will be there for the rest of its natural life.
They are funded through grants and private donations and receive no tax-payer's dollars.

This is my Teething ring doll. He is made from velour and hand dyed cotton sherpa. He has a beechwood teething ring tied in his cap.
Right on cue...Bikini is teething.
We found 2 lost teeth last week. (....awwwwww)
She has some pretty big gaps in her mouth right now...but it doesn't seem to be slowing her down from chewing on everything !!

Wooden teething rings with silicone rubber beads for little ones
The idea of making these belongs to a friend of mine, mother of three and soon to be four kids.
Growing pains.... I can remember them well... the "my legs are stretching" pains that is but I cannot recall the teething pains. Poor little nephew, it'll all be worth it, I promise.

Journaling reads: gnawing, drooling, fever, pain, swelling, really stinky diapers, lethargy, irritability, tears, helplessness. A really long, long day for both of us. Small strip reads: feel better, my darling.

Russian artist Victor liked to clown around. Just before he left for Taiwan he got some artificial teeth. They didn't fit quite right, so he often took them out and then misplaced them, a fertile source of Victor stories, of which there were many. Here he poses with his new teeth next to a toothy statue at Wen Wu Temple.
It’s a great time for a baby to start teething. According to ADA, most of the babies get their first tooth developed in the age of 6 months. And by the age of three, they get the complete set of primary #teeth. Although irritability and excessive drooling are the most common signs which tell that the baby is teething, there are other signs too that you can look at. Remember, teething is a painful time, and the only way you can keep your baby comfortable is to follow the right way as recommended by your dentist. Having that said, it is worth mentioning some signs of teething.
Decreased sleeping
When you expect your baby to start teething, one thing that you need to look at is the sleep pattern of your baby. Due to the discomfort of teething process, baby might not find it very easy to sleep. Hence, decreased sleeping can come out as consequence.
Excessive biting or gnawing
The baby, who starts teething, usually likes to bite or gnaw on anything she/she finds light enough to be lifted. This is the #natural phenomenon which is associated with relieving of pressure with the help of pressure generated by biting on something. The gums usually ache when the teeth start making way to get erupted. And biting on something help in relieving this pressure. In order to help your baby, you can provide him/her with a teething ring.
Rubbing of ear and cheek area
The #teething baby can have pain spreading in the area of cheeks and ears. Thus, the baby may start rubbing the area. Due to discomfort, the baby may start pulling ears or rub on the cheeks. But one thing worth mentioning here is that this pulling and rubbing do not show the signs of teething only. An ear infection can also make the baby to do such activities. In either case, you have to take your baby to the doctor immediately.
Decreased appetite
The teething baby gets sores and tenders in the gums and area close to gums. Hence, it is quite natural for the baby to refuse the food because chewing can result in extra amount of pain. This loss in #appetite is due to the discomfort due to this tenderness of gums.
Teething is the natural process which is going to cause #pain and #discomfort in the gums. But, you have to make sure that you are taking care of your baby’s oral hygiene in order to keep the infections away. You also need to take your baby to the #dental_visit.
