DailyShoot: Birds are beautiful and rewarding to photograph. Challenge yourself by making a photo of a bird today! (@theskane)
Today was the biggest struggle for my DailyShoot. Day 101 and I barely accomplished it. Okay--technically not a LIVE bird, but I really tried today.
We stopped at a Conservation outlook, hiked into the woods, saw a beautiful landscape, HEARD tons of birds, but nothing in site...

Then, we even saw hot air balloons, 3 to be exact, floating above our heads, at least I finally saw something in the sky.

on the way home... no birds around.
So, as the sun was setting, I couldn't resist, my husband was about to eat and FINALLY, I'd found a bird to capture... :)

It's been a dark and rainy day, so I've spent it cleaning up the apartment whilst enjoying awesome music on my new Technics.
Just a series of Lego photos for linking to on another website, of course if you like Lego feel free to comment :)
Yeah, I'm liking sketchup. I made this in about 1/2 hour!
Hmmm, not sure whether to file it under "drawings" or "computer things"!

Figure 54. A backpack radiation detector (BRD) mounted on a phantom that is positioned on top of a rotating table. The phantom is made from a polymer that is designed to mimic the torso of a human. The objective of this test was to measure the BRDs’ ability to detect radiation when exposed to a source from different angles.

I was given three rolls of 35mm Kodak Technical Pan (expired 2002). I hunted around for a development scheme and finally settled on this. Mostly because I had Rodinal. I'm only posting in case some of you still have some in the fridge.
16 EI
Rodinal 1+150 for thirteen minutes
Agitate with 30 seconds initial inversions, then 3 inversions at 10 minutes,7 minutes,4 minutes, and 1minute counting down. (every 3 minutes)
Regular stop, fix and hypo.
I used 5ml of Rodinal in 750ml of H2O. That gives less than the recommended 10ml of Rodinal but the negatives really look great (full tone scale).
I had to figure out a curve profile as I felt (and still do) that the midtones were not right. Technical Pan is also a dust magnet; lots of healing tool. Even with Rodinal there is virtually no grain.
