Last Friday I lost my job of four years... I thought it would make me feel stressed and worried about the future, but given the unhealthy work environment that I had put up with for so long, I feel almost nothing but relief. I knew that my relationship with this company was coming to an end for a while now and frankly I wish I would've summoned the courage to leave a long time ago, but the money was the best I had ever made so I forced myself to try and stick it out for as long as I could. I'm uncertain of my future at this time but sometimes I think it's better for us as individuals for things to feel uncertain than to always feel comfortable. We do not change or grow when we're comfortable. We do not learn about the world or our own capabilities and strengths when we're always comfortable and for that I'm thankful to be moving on to something I know will be better for me professionally but also healthier for me mentally. And my advice for anyone else who might be going through something similar or maybe will face something similar in the future is to bet on yourself, take a leap of faith, and pursue what makes YOU happy in this beautiful world. Life is far too short to put up with any sort of unhappiness.

This snake has been on my bucket list for as long as i can remember and after almost 20 hours of searching we finally cruised 2 and about 4am. IDC how 'common' they are, they're rattlesnakes (badass), have horns (badass), have a missile named after them (badass), and move sideways (badass?). Awesome, awesome snakes
If you know where to look you'll find remnants of of railroads and bridges that once connected small towns in New England. From town to town and mill to mill.

Lightning north of the lake lit the foreground nicely and caused a rather neat reflection I felt, also managed an alligator swimming by during the frame.
Nice day for a ride

This is Opus. Dog sitting and playing with my first Carl Zeiss lens, a Jena DDR Tessar 1:2.8/50mm. Love the bokeh and the way it renders colors. The flare is quite lovely as well.
Thanks again for the awesome lens Mathew Irving!

Google Earthed a spot, spent hours walking, got 3 wood turtles yesterday :) My first in NJ and my dad's first ever. I wandered around a small swamp with him trying to find a decent shot. Finally got one. Was a good day outside.
Black-footed ferrets are the only ferret species native to the North American continent. They are one of the most endangered mammals in North America. Today, recovery efforts have helped restore the black-footed ferret population to nearly 300 animals across North America.
