Things have been quiet around here lately and that's because I've been in Los Angeles! I have lots to share but for now here is one of my favorites. It was Cory's first trip to Disneyland so to say he had a good time is kind of an understatement...
Spinning around on the teacups ride at Disneyland with my niece on her 5th birthday. It was her first visit to the park, and she had a magnificent time asking princesses about their hobbies and dancing with giant chipmunks ("how do you know which one is which?" she asked about Chip and Dale).

For Emma’s 21st, her mum organised a Cup of Coffee Cake, which she requested in mint green with butterflies.

A blue Hagiware cup by Seigan Yamane. It's rough sand clay (oni-Hagi) (some of the grit is nearly rice grain sized) with custom glazing and wood-fired kiln for the glaze effects.
There's this lovely little divot in the side of the cup that fits my thumb exactly and the walls are thick enough to warm my hands without burning them when the tea is fresh and hot.
Found at value village... bought for an online class that I will be releasing soon. One of the projects will be a teacup pincushion :)
