This is a Jan Mullen pattern. (I made a lot of these blocks - these 9 I sewed together and donated to the guild for their auction.)
This cake was an adaptation from my Tub cake. The baby shower was a tea party, so the client had asked if I could turn the tub into a teacup....I said SURE!! I just loved the idea, I had to do it!!
She'd heard of Teacup yorkies, so Bella couldn't see any reason why there shouldn't be a Teacup bulldog too. Impeccable logic I'd say. :)
I usually avoid this attraction because the wild spinning is just too much for me to handle. I really like the idea of a ride like this though, and think it looks great in photos, especially for longer exposures. I'm wondering, if you don't turn that center wheel, how bad is the spinning?

I absolutely adore teacups. I have so many. These are just a few. I painted the little peg shelf to match one of the teacups hanging and wrote "Share a cup of Laughter."
