Casa Uccello
Our task for this studio was to design a residential space inspired from nature or wasn’t man-made. We had to choose something which had some sort of structure in it. Thus, my inspiration for the project was a flying bird. I have always been fascinated with flying. The literal translation of “casa Uccello” is “Home Bird”. The desired location for the same is Inkoy in Turkey overlooking the Lake Van. Among other things, its famous for its bird migration seasons.
My main idea for the project has been to bring the outside, inside. The space has been divided into five individual rooms which are not joined together. There are two washrooms, one with the master bedroom and one with the kid bedroom. There’s also a common toilet close to the dining room. The biggest space in the house is that of the hall which has a dining room in it. Its where the main entrance is from. Next to the main entrance is the kitchen. Adjoining the kid’s bedroom is the swimming pool. Thus my whole structure uses a lot of glass. The ratio of walls compared to glass walls is lesser. And the placement of the glass walls have been made in such a way that they offer you panoramic views of the outside. Each room is minimalistic. Furniture’s have been used only where necessary. To access any of the rooms, one has to step outside the enclosed spaces and then enter another room again. My ideal client for the same would be for a young couple with a young kid. Somebody who would use “Casa Uccello” as their summer house. And somebody who would appreciate the simplicity of the design and the many joys of owning such a home too.

I did some tasks this morning before going to the Hair Clinic. Then I bought a few groceries at Publix. Now I'm home. We've had a thunder shower come up just like yesterday afternoon. We need the rain; it's been dry for quite awhile.
