The raindrops were trying had to fall. I had to full in tow hours between scans to lit the Radiation Dye go around my body. They were looking for a brake in my leg..they did find a creak in my lower femur. I was in plaster for six weeks so no more walking around the city for a while.

Like most parents, Common Loons (Gavia immer) with chicks master the art of multi-tasking their own needs with those of their offspring. This adult is fishing for growing chicks and bringing back prey for supper but also had a need to strech out, too, hence the flapping while fishing. Taken in Lincoln County on June 24, 2016.
Multi-tasking is difficult for the male species ( so woman would lead us to believe) This Wren just couldn't sing and gather moss to save his life.. he would pick up a beak full, go to sing and then drop the lot..lol
Ah my fine flickr friends - first day back at work - feel I have re-entered the normal world again and first task is to check in and say hello to you all.I had a marvellous time in Bali - travelled around different locations every few days and loved every minute.
As I had been so busy before I left and was just exhausted I had a 'genius' idea and thought I know I will check in to one of those resort type places for a few days. I normally like staying in more individual places however I thought you are just starting to grow up now (just turned 50 ) Rosie you must be ready for a resort by now surely. I had dreams of myself laying languidly by the pool for hours and hours on end catching up on flickr, eating from poolside menus and just hanging out...resort style.
So I landed at this place which is part of The Ayana Resort in Jimbaran Oh I pulled up and it was in the middle of nowhere in a foresty like place and this amazing Bladerunner state of the Art new hotel with 5 or was it 6 pools. My room was amazing with a super huge bed - amazing bathroom , everything was all golden, new and sparkling - and I thought this it - its going to be fabulous. I went for a wander and got down to the pool - sunbeds galore - lay on one and thought so it begins. Within 20 minutes of perfect calm and only the sounds of groups of tourists twittering in the background and splashing in the pool I became restless and thought I could be anywhere in the world - everything was so gleaming and new . So I then caught this tram like thing that wanders all around the estate and down to the water - yes, that was full of tourists too. Even more pools down there packed full of even more tourists. Thought I will go back to my room and sleep - that my Resort Relaxation mode had not yet kicked in and decided that after my nap I would get up and take some some sunset shots of Jimbaran Bay.
Well because the bed was so HUGE I overslept and woke up and knew it was too late to get the 'tram' to sunset. So grabbed my camera and wandered out in to the lobby and in this huge lobby pool saw this girl wading through the water with a violin. I thought how amazing is this - we are going to hear some Vivialdi or Handel water music as the sun sets. I sat myself in an overstuffed resort type chair thingey in the middle of the pool(don't ask....too complicated to explain...its a resort thing) and took a shot of her just as she was starting to play.
Next moment....I hear Celine Dion and My Heart Will Go on blaring out of the speakers in the lobby and she starts playing her violin along to it. At that moment I realised that my heart could not go on any further and it really was the last resort and I could not bear it....went straight to reception and said I am checking out tomorrow. They were so sweet and asked what was wrong...I said nothing, thats the problem...everything is perfect here and shiny and new ...however I said I am not a resort person .
12 hours later I arrived in La Taverna - one of the original hotels in Bali from the early 70's with overgrown gardens and squeaky old wooden Balinese doors and thought now this is more like it and thought back to both the first and the Last Resort I will every stay in ;) .
Quenching your thirst is a necessity but for some creatures it is a time when they are most vulnerable.

To me, it's an incredible sight to witness a soaring osprey overhead. They fly so effortlessly and with such purpose ... whether flying to catch their dinner, bring back some nesting material, protect their nesting zone, or simply play in the air ... it's quite the sight to see. The detail in the feathers always mesmerizes me, but I come out of that trance quickly when I hear their easily identifiable call ... another favorite sound of mine.
In Florida, we are privileged to have these osprey residents among us, so they're never really far away. In the winter and spring though, they congregate for their breeding season. Always a great adventure. :-)
Happy Monday everyone! May your week soar by, just like this adult osprey.
Thanks for stopping by to view.

The gentleman was playing the Chinese musical instrument Pipa (琵琶) when I saw him in Minoru Park.
One thing interesting to me is that he was actually talking to another person (on the right outside of the frame) while playing the instrument.
I was never able to talk to anybody (except myself) while taking pictures. I guess I am not a multi-tasking person and not a very productive person in this fast-paced 21st century.
Happy Friday and great weekend to everyone!
Today I brought my camera and drone with me to the usual Monday thesis consultation.
The intention was to make use of the sunny weather and catch the 4th Škoda 380 locomotive in its decorative livery after the meeting.
Well, just minutes after my arrival at the spot in Zebegény, the sun dipped behind the building cloud coverage, and the 33-minute late Eurocity train passed in front of me just as I was about to take off with my drone. Great!
As I had a bunch of time until the next train to head home with, plenty of battery time, and cloud coverage that allowed me to get a rarely seen angle of the 7-arched viaduct, I waited for the next passenger service heading to Szob to capture this snap with the 21st out of 40 Stadler KISS units of MÁV-START.
