Yes this could be a trigger for some but I feel its important.. You never know who's hurting and you never know what's going through someones head.. Check on your strong friends, happy friends, you never know who's covering up their pain.
Task 1 (sketch in 2 minutes): I totally miscalculated the time and thought I had plenty of time and knowledge (having seen Liz draw the building) to look and draw details instead of focusing on the main structure and windows first. Because it looked so unfinished after the 2 minutes, I added the important parts with pencil.
Task 2 (more detailed sketch using the 7 steps): Great fun thinking about the steps even though I have to admit that I forgot about them half way through the sketch, but then noticing, that I had applied that sequence anyway.
It's day 2 of vignweek, and the prompt is "Rescue." I'm of course continuing the Harry Potter theme with my take on the second task of the Triwizard Tournament!
Young novices during a morning ceremony at Tibetan Losar festival in monastery Kirti close to township Aba. In the area of Aba there are around 40 monasteries and I've never seen such many of young boys in a monastery. In Tibet it is usual to give one boy into a monastery. The overseers, mostly uncouth low monks, are not afraid to strike hard. Leica M6, Summicron M 2,0/50mm, Fuji Neopan 400, dev. in ID-11, dil. 1:1, scanned with Nikon Supercoolscan 8000ED.

Like most parents, Common Loons (Gavia immer) with chicks master the art of multi-tasking their own needs with those of their offspring. This adult is fishing for growing chicks and bringing back prey for supper but also had a need to strech out, too, hence the flapping while fishing. Taken in Lincoln County on June 24, 2016.
Multi-tasking is difficult for the male species ( so woman would lead us to believe) This Wren just couldn't sing and gather moss to save his life.. he would pick up a beak full, go to sing and then drop the lot..lol

To me, it's an incredible sight to witness a soaring osprey overhead. They fly so effortlessly and with such purpose ... whether flying to catch their dinner, bring back some nesting material, protect their nesting zone, or simply play in the air ... it's quite the sight to see. The detail in the feathers always mesmerizes me, but I come out of that trance quickly when I hear their easily identifiable call ... another favorite sound of mine.
In Florida, we are privileged to have these osprey residents among us, so they're never really far away. In the winter and spring though, they congregate for their breeding season. Always a great adventure. :-)
Happy Monday everyone! May your week soar by, just like this adult osprey.
Thanks for stopping by to view.

Today I brought my camera and drone with me to the usual Monday thesis consultation.
The intention was to make use of the sunny weather and catch the 4th Škoda 380 locomotive in its decorative livery after the meeting.
Well, just minutes after my arrival at the spot in Zebegény, the sun dipped behind the building cloud coverage, and the 33-minute late Eurocity train passed in front of me just as I was about to take off with my drone. Great!
As I had a bunch of time until the next train to head home with, plenty of battery time, and cloud coverage that allowed me to get a rarely seen angle of the 7-arched viaduct, I waited for the next passenger service heading to Szob to capture this snap with the 21st out of 40 Stadler KISS units of MÁV-START.
