The first task of starting Uni is the walk along the Purbecks. It was a beautiful day, but that made it all more challenging. I'm not fit, but I think even if I was I would have struggled. The sun was beaming, we were all sweating buckets. The hills felt like mountains. The pub was well received at the end.

This image was given to me by Karl Schmidt from the Coastal Defense Study Group (CDSG.org) who got the images from National Archives and Records Administration (NARA). This album shows Fort Drum, in Manila Bay during WWII, the year 1945, under attack, recaptured and post battle. Fort Drum, on Fraile Island was part of the Manila and Subic Bay Harbor Defense Command and was ordered to surrender in 1942 when Ft. Mills on Corregidor surrendered. The image numbers 1a01 to 1a36 came from me, the other letters and numbers may be the NARA number and date of image or were given by Karl Schmidt in his files. This picture was uploaded at high resolution.
