It took byron four hours to open the ball, change out the resistor to accommodate the new power source, hack out these wires, and put it all back together. These are the only pictures of that arduous process.

That night he'd dreamt it was before the incident. He'd woken slowly, cold reality seeping gradually back into his consciousness. It had taken many minutes to shake the morose feeling of returning to that reality. Strange how the dreaming mind can choose subconsciously a time and a place unconstrained by facts, history...or by life and death. Just for a beautiful tangible moment as he'd woken all was fine, there was a warmth and he was at peace.
