I don't know what type of plant it is. The flowers were no larger than a dime in diameter. It took a few shots as the wind was moving the flower in and out of focus.

Morning Glory – White, Magenta by JW Vraets

I am beginning to get the hang of the Tamron 90mm macro but depth of field, more precisely the lack of it, remains an issue. Since flowers are more cooperative than bugs, I continue to work with them. In this case a white Morning Glory with a few magenta streaks was my unwitting volunteer. - JW

Tech Details:

 

Taken using a hand-held Nikon D7100 fitted with a Tamron 90mm f/2.8 macro lense set to full extension (i.e. 1:1 reproduction ratio on the sensor), Aperture priority mode, f/10.0, 1/160 sec, manual white balance set to Cloudy weather. PP in free Open Source RAWTherapee: bring up exposure to get a reasonable white representation, set colour balance using spot balance, sharpen, apply vibrance, apply micro-contrast, apply noise reduction, export to jpeg. PP in free Open Source GIMP: slightly increase contrast, adjust colour balance slightly to add blue, clone out two dark spots along the left side, sharpen, add fine black and white frame, add bar and text on left, scale to 1800 wide for posting.
