Hong Kong changed a lot in the last years. From the colourful small shops to clean sterile supermarkets. With my photos I want to capture the traditional Hong Kong life.

Tip Top Tailors was a Canadian menswear clothing retailer founded in Toronto in 1909 by Polish-Jewish immigrant David Dunkelman (1883–1978). He rented his first store at 245 Yonge Street, Toronto, selling tailored suits for $14. The name of the chain was chosen by a customer in a contest. A now landmark building that housed the manufacturing, warehousing, retail and office operations for Tip Top Tailors was built at 637 Lake Shore Boulevard West, Toronto, Ontario. This building was designed by architect and engineer Roy H. Bishop in a classic Art Deco style. Construction was completed in 1929.[1] Founder David Dunkelman's son Benjamin Dunkelman (1913–1997) served as president of Tip Top Tailors after his father stepped down in 1948 until he eventually sold the company to the newly formed Dylex Limited in 1967. The history of Tip Top Tailors after 1967 is inextricably intertwined with that of Dylex Limited. 70

This is my attempt at an Art Nouveau styled building. It has been on the to do list for many years but I've lacked the quantity of usable pieces to create something believable until recently obtaining a decent number of arches and curved pieces. I've been through a ton of source material and there are some eye catching examples from Belgium/Netherlands/Latvia just to name a few. My home city has next to none and seems to skip to Art-Deco so its all been online viewing for me.
My main remit was to create a curved bay with 5 windows but not have it look too big and clunky. As for everything else, much like Art Nouveau there are organic shapes aplenty, balconies, plants for decoration and a lack of symmetry. I've tried a bunch of techniques I've not done before and copied the odd one from a previous build such as the roof. It's taken two months in all!
The interior houses a tailors which I found a befitting shop for the style of the building -c1910-1920's. There is a cutaway wall to show the staircase/tailors studio. I thought a shop with varied heights would be more interesting!
Cheers!

For the upcoming specialization cerimony I have decided to buy a tailored shirt in a famous shop of Catania, called Lorenzino, where many people (politicians, actors, professors and so on) brought a tailored shirt as well.

66726 has been sent into the Bamford Loop to allow an EMR Liverpool to Norwich to pass. The diverted 6E10 1135 Liverpool Biomass Tml Gbf to Drax Aes (Gbrf) is seen here leaving the loop after it's 10 minute layover.
Completed about a year ago this is the purpose of the investment to layover freight trains to allow passenger trains to pass increasing line capacity. Not sure if the investment was one of these offshots from HS2 whereby increased stone traffic from the peaks has required more holding space, however the loop appears to be used mainly by either engineering trains to or from the Trans Pennine upgrade or freights diverted off the Trans Pennine route while the upgrade is taking place. Of more regular use appears to be the Dore West Curve where longer peak bound freights can be accommodated avoiding their tail end blocking the Midland Mainline.
The other challenge with this loop is the trains are usually loaded and it's an uphill slog from a standing start.

I like all of the movie that Jack Nicholson played. Among them, Chinatown is one of my favorite movies. "Bad for grass" will become in the wake of the dramatic expansion, but my memory is ambiguous about why the title of this movie is attached. Is soon going to need to see this again.
