Taken of this shot in one of the hip Shanghai Cuisine Restaurant in Jakarta. I love their tableware which they serve during the meal. So beautiful decoration not only the boring white plate as usual served by other restaurant.
Thanks for the views, comments, faves...cheers ^__^

I get a very nice feeling by looking at the picture. I love the red haze, I have deliberately not changed the colours of the picture.
I remeber i was so happy with the toys...like a child.
I posted this picture because I love to share this happy re-ment feeling.
Taken from inside Cirebon Palace. All of the stuff displayed and photographed actually was prepared for Maulud Ceremony. According to the guide they will clean it according to the ancient and traditional procedure during Maulud Ceremony. Maulud ( if I'm not wrong ) is Birthday of Prophet Muhammad.

Chalice in an old, pre-Christian sense. Probably pre-monotheistic sense, too, May be just tableware, but my guess is that this one was for pouring libations. Modeled after the Corpus Vasorum Antiquorum: KARLSRUHE, BADISCHES LANDESMUSEUM 1, 44, PL.(333) 35.11. (Vase number 1002523.)
The CVA is a fine database of Classical ceramic stuff, though I think the database design is rather later -- middle Byzantine at the earliest. If you download a monochrome image of, say, the work of a long-dead and thoroughly unknown Athenian potter, the site will watermark it with the time and your IP address and a big-ass copyright notice. No need to pour libations on holy ground to lay this particular ghost. (I ended up getting a skate-punk to download it for me on his iPhone -- his Latin had the most curious pronunciation, something like you'd hear in an English public school in the 19th century. Kids today.)
