Coleshill's parish church of SS Peter & Paul is marked by it's splendid steeple, a landmark for miles around and similar to those of several other prosperous Midland red sandstone churches. It is a large building which has undergone significant Victorian restoration but retains it's grand medieval town church feel. The nave is rather long and cavernous but is followed by a lighter (despite the sandstone finish and Victorian glass) Perpendicular chancel with large windows.
The real treasures here are the monuments and the Norman font, which is adorned with a Crucifixion and four saints in relief amidst curling foliage, damaged but still enjoyable. The earliest monuments are 13th century knights, one in each aisle, but the rest are concentrated in the chancel, with three large tombs of the Digby Family with effigies of couples, (two late medieval, one Elizabethan) and a further late medieval tomb chest crowned by an incised slab (sadly somewhat engulfed by clutter). There are a couple of small priest's brasses too nearby.
Sadly the church shares the north Warwickshire access problem being normally locked, though it fares better than most of these for having appointed open hours on Saturday & Wednesday mornings between 11am & 1pm. Years ago there used to be a key available from a nearby shop, it's a shame such convenient arrangements as these have declined, not only here but generally.
A church with lots of interest, flint flushwork, brick patching, medieval and post-medieval furnishings. Fine seventeenth century tablets, medieval wallpaintings. Mrs Mildred Holland, the wife of the vicar Revd William Holland painted the extraordinary ceiling between 1859 and 1862 as part of her husband's restoration of the church.

Macromondays: Theme is nightmares
For my birthday in August, my girlfriend bought be a Wacom graphics tablet. I'd asked for this as I thought it may help to touch up the photographs of little people I do for MM.
I've not had much opportunity to do any photography since (a mare in itself), so just sat down today to learn how to use it. These thngs are a nightmare - so much harder than I imagined......
Still once I get better at it , sure it'll help me photoshop out the blue tack (what I normally have to do)...

En un encuentro reciente en la Ciudad Deportiva los jugadores del primer equipo del FC Barcelona pudieron disfrutar de la tecnología Advan, partner regional del Club y FCB Official Mobile Phone Device en Indonesia. El señor Tirta Setyono Siek, presidente de Advan, y el señor Andy Gusen, director Endeecomm entregaron diferentes modelos de teléfonos inteligentes y tabletas a Luis Suárez, Gerard Piqué, Andrés Iniesta, Jordi Alba y Pedro Rodríguez. Acuerdo para los dos próximos años

St Nicholas's in Alcester has the grandeur befitting the main church of a small town, but all that survives of the medieval building is the tall west tower, the rest was rebuilt in the Georgian period in a strange fusion of gothic (exterior) and classical (interior) by Thomas Woodward of Chipping Campden in 1729-30. There was further alteration when Frederick Preedy rebuilt the chancel in 1870-1 and inserted the tracery in the nave windows, which gives the main body of the church a more Victorianised appearance.
Inside the nave retains it's plain classical columns and flat plaster ceiling and is somewhat austere, relieved by the central chandelier suspended from a gilt cherub.
The most remarkable feature is the late Tudor tomb of Sir Fulke Greville and his wife in the north aisle from 1559. The deceased are represented by recumbent effigies with many children portrayed on the sides of the tomb chest below, all in a good state of preservation with what appears to be original colouring.
There is also a fine monument by Sir Francis Chantrey to the 1st Marquis of Hertford in the south transept from 1828 with a reclining effigy.
There is fairly ordinary Victorian stained glass in the chancel, the church's best window is a modern piece from 1997 by Alan Younger in the south aisle.
This is a photograph from the finish of the 6th annual Kinnegad 5KM Road Race and Fun Run 2015 which was held in the town of Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Wednesday 8th July 2015 at 20:00. This race has firmly estbalished itself on the local race calender and yet again the race got wonderful support from local clubs and runners. The race is flat and fast and takes runners on traffic free route which includes 3KM on the local road 'Boreen Bradach'. The finish is on the famous main street of Kinnegad in front of Harry's Hotel. The race is organised by Coralstown Kinnegad GAA Club with proceeds from the race going towards the development of the club.

As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. I was looking at tutorials for practicing with a drawing tablet, and they were all lame, "draw a bunch of these types of lines, and these shapes, etc". So I thought I'd do fun things as practice, instead.

This alien is a recurring character I like to draw. Here he's in an environmental suit of some kind. While drawing him, I thought up a backstory:
He's from a race of telepathic/psycho-manipulative aliens. He can do telekinesis as well as any of his race, but he can't seem to read the minds of humans (which comes naturally to his race). His race's tribunal accused him of being lazy, neglecting his mental studies. When he opened his mind for the tribunal to read his thoughts, they thought this was so absurd that they accused him of "thinking deceitful thoughts", a major crime on their planet.
As a punishment he is to become an envoy for his race, and member of a mostly-human ship crew.
