On the far horizon, the setting sun.
Last beams of golden light search their way through the open window. A murmuring brook flows to the song of the birds outside. Wind gently brushes the cherry trees and carries the scent of flowers inside the quiet room. With a deep sigh he lifts his gaze from his graphic tablet, eying his work in a critical manner. Maybe it was time for a break? He turns towards u10. They've been quietly working side by side. It was a comfortable silence between them, that he rarely felt with others. A smile whisks over his face as he watches him.
A moment passes, before he gets up and disappears into the kitchen, only to return with a red fox cup, filled with fruit vinegar. He takes a seat on the edge of u10's pillow, gently he leaning onto him.
"Here.", he almost whispers, while passing the cup to him.
"Asahi-kun." A genuine smile spreads across u10's lips.
"Thank you.", he says accepting the cup. "We should take a break and stretch."
Asahi chuckles and thoughtfully he taps his chin with his index finger. "How about... would you like to watch a movie?"
"Hai!", u10 replies with a hearty laughter.

These three plaques (two can be seen properly here) are made of pure gold and nailed to a wall for anyone to read, in around 500 B.C. They are from the Etruscan town of Pyrgi and are written in two languages: Etruscan and the Punic dialect of Phoenician (the one to the left here is in Etruscan and the one next to it is in Phoenician - if you look closely you can see that the letters are different). The texts are about how the ruler of Caere, Thefarie Velianas, dedicated a temple to the Etruscan goddess Uni, the goddess of love and marriage (here identified with the Phoenician goddess Astarte). They were excavated in 1964 and are now on display at Villa Giulia, Rome.
Actually, the texts in the two different languages aren't completely word for word translations from one to the other. My husband has written an article about the significance of the differences in an article which can be found here: www.academia.edu/14327680/The_Religio-Social_Message_of_t... (if you want to read it but are not a member of the site, you can log in with Facebook)
(The thing in the lower left corner is the nails with which the tablets were nailed to the wall.)

Rongo rongo scripture, or kohau rongo rongo as the natives call it, is a scripture system consisting of glyphs carved on wood or tablets, which to this day have yet to be deciphered. The most common translation of the term kohau is “wood used for making the hull of the canoe” and rongo rongo means “the great message” or “great study”, for which the kohau rongo rongo has been translated to “recitation wood’ or “narrator staffs”.

Today I tried out an LED light box that my friend has for her craft, and I shot this with my Nikkor 105 mm Macro lens. I am planning to by a Lensbaby Velvet 56 and use it with the light tablet in the future.

A candid street photo. It was taken within some fantasy Fairyland. Once upon a time a beautiful princess lived in the Fairyland... A colofrully dressed woman in blue jeans and deep red or wine red high boots with a tablet in her hands takes photos in a fairy corner of a public park on a gloomy day of the autumn season. May the happiness be with her.

For those of you wondering why I haven't been posting or doing much on here lately, it's because I've been suffering from shingles, which has made feel quite under the weather. These are the tablets I've had to take for a week, the size of horse tranquilizers!! (Note to self : Don't try to swallow them sideways!) ..

The Chinese Cemetery in Nevada City, California. The earliest Chinese pioneers came to California during the Gold Rush of 1849-50. During the early 1860's they began returning the remains of their deceased to China for traditional burials. There are no human remains left on this site.
Built in a somewhat horseshoe shape, this design is frequently seen in permanent tombs in Chinese cemeteries in San Francisco and China. In front of the tablet is a small raised area with holes for candles, incense, and ornaments used during burials and festivals. The main inscription reads: "Tablet where one offers sacrificial food and pays one's respects"

The Poetovio Archaeological Park presents the heritage of ancient Ptuj, the largest Roman settlement in the Slovenian territory.
On top of the hill overlooking the majestic 11th century Ptuj castle is undeveloped land which the locals call Panorama, a rich archaeological site where large numbers of uncovered Roman stone monuments have been discovered.
This is one of those - a damaged votive slab made of marble. It was made for the Nutrices (the “divine wet nurses”) whose sanctuary was up on the hill in the middle or the second half of the 2nd century. a sanctuary of the Nutrices stood in the 2nd and 3rd centuries
Ellen (Strangers 10, Round 3)
Ellen, she showed me her Amnesty International card. "Can I ask you something? I speak to people and tell about the discrimination against homosexuals in countries in Eastern Europe. Do you want to sign a petition? ”. She said that she does this work as a student (she is studying the account manager training) and can thus collect some extra credits in Corona time. I was surprised that by collecting signatures you can also collect credits. It is an alternative to doing an internship. She was not alone, more students were active. I had to sign via her tablet, only that way she got credits. This is the 10th photo from my 3rd round of the 100strangers project.
