Our church's stained glass artist Ken DeLeeuw decided to try his hand with marble. He got a hold of a piece of Marble and made this tablet for the church Meditation Garden. I think it came out pretty good.

St Martin's at Desford is a rather restored church, but not as much as the exterior suggests. Not fussed before, incredibly impressed now. Only tried a few native iPad apps (mostly scaled iPhone apps) but the wikipanion is amazing, so were ebooks and maps.
Really tempted to get one now.

Sergeant William Thomas BURLEY of the parish (St Peter, Stoke on Trent) who died at Bere Island, County Cork whilst serving with the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry 20 July 1918 aged 38.
This tablet is erected as a token of esteem by the Warrant Officers, Staff Sergeants and Sergeants of the Reserve Garrison Battalion, the King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry.
(CWGC data) Sergeant 31562 William Thomas BURLEY 1st Garrison Battalion, King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry died 20 July 1918. His wife Sarah was granted a war gratuity 23 October 1918 revised 3 December 1919.
Born 1880 in Market Drayton, Shropshire to f Richard and Sarah Ann Burley nee Leadbeater.
1881 he was residing with his parents and siblings at Frogmore Road, Market Drayton.
1891 still with his parents now residing at 15 Campbell Road, Boothen, Stoke on Trent
1901 residing by himself at Church Hill Street, Winshill, Staffordshire, occupation, brewer’s clerk.
1911 Now married and residing with his wife Sarah Eveline nee Allerton at 87 Walvern Street, Stapenhill, Burton on Trent. Occupation, brewer’s clerk. He was married on 1906.
