Bring the food!

I found a box of slides at an antique shop in the Hudson Valley a few months ago. There were about sixty slides in total from maybe a dozen or so rolls of film. A couple of the slides have a processing date of 1961. None of the slides have identifying information but they all appear to have belonged to the same person or family.

How to brighten your day.

The colours for this christmas lunch were silver, red & white.

White tablecloth with scatter stars in red & silver, glass plates & glasses and plain silverware. For decoration I used red glass tealight holders, silver & white bon bons, silver and white christmas napkins and on everyones plate was a kris kringle present wrapped in a red organzer bag.

to all of my Flickr family and friends! I got to host my very first Thanksgiving lunch with family today! It was a lot of work and planning, but SO totally worth it all. I got out our fine china and washed every piece last night and then again, after lunch today. I loved handling the china so much, it was a pleasure to finally get to use it, after 20 years. These are my table decorations, which I loved fixing :-). Hoping everyone enjoyed it as much as I did.

A crowd for Thanksgiving required breaking out every plate...but maintaining proper autumn colors.

The flowers in the garden were over; the autumn leaves on the wet ground; so varigated ivy vines became the table decor.
