Ah! Snacks! That is something in my diet that I am trying to tackle! Since Lockdown my love of sweet, sugary snacks has blossomed, along with my waistline! So finding alternatives has become urgent, and surprisingly difficult! Sugar, salt and fat are everywhere. My latest find is these nuts and seeds together with nori seaweed and maple syrup. I am hoping for great results, as rice cakes do get boring after a while!

I was inspired by other images that I've seen here on Flickr. And decided to take out one of my teacups from my cabinet, pick some flowers from a hanging basket and shoot! I used a piece of glitter construction paper for the background and a couple of my small table top LED lights. (They get extremely HOT) I know it's very girly but I just wanted to use some of my props. Hoping to get back out side soon!
Thank you everyone!

15 of 25 Days of Christmas
I saw this in a magazine, Real Simple. It was an article on how to make brown paper packages look nice. It said, "Sketch a jar on your paper with a white wax pencil, then tie a few small springs of dried flowers and foliage to the box with a simple piece of twine." I thought it was a lovely idea but instead of doing it on a package I did it on a piece cardboard. I thought I would put it in a shadowbox or frame and set it out. It is very classy for Christmas, I think.
Fun Fact: I did not use a wax pencil. I don't even know what that is, haha. I used chalk and it worked great. :)
My first attempt with my new Lensbaby Velvet 56 lens.

Located East of Grand Junction, Colorado. These Table Top Mesas are unique and have their own beauty and character. This setting was an eye catcher for me.
One of our resident Blackbirds has turned a patio table into his private landing strip when arriving for a snack. Only he hasn't yet quiet mastered touching down on a glass top runway. Oh happy days ... :-))
I went back to the drawing board for another take on the pomegranate shot with a different background and slightly different composition. I think the colours look richer in this one.

The day started wet and it looks like it is staying wet , so a shot from the doorway at the freshly covered patio table and it seems the cover is indeed waterproof . However , this has now created a splendid abstract so a shot of the day out of the wet weather !!
Todays Tropical Cyclone Dovi project was this little image - a simple idea but harder to construct than I first thought, but overall I got the look I had in my mind somewhere!

Beautiful piece of Malachite as the centre of this incredible table seen in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge
OK, what is this? While sitting across from this "mix of stuff" I realized it was an interesting juxtaposition of the old, the new, and some of the tools used. In the foreground an old print of an old friend sits. She happens to be painting her mailbox at the time, and the time was mid 1970's. A b/w 8x10 print I shot on a Minolta SRT102 on Kodak Tri-X film which I had processed and printed in a darkroom I had built in my basement.
Off in the distance, "the new," a new b/w image matted and framed, and awaiting to be wrapped up and given as a gift. That one shot on the Nikon you see on the right.
The tools in the middle, an old Canon 50D, and still very useable, and many of the photos of mine seen here on Flickr were shot with it. Mounted on it is one of Canon's best L lenses, their 24-105, F/4 lens. To the right of that sits our Nikon D850, an absolute joy of a camera, and on it sits our go-to 24-70 F/2.8 Nikon lens.
As I sat and looked at all this I thought it be an interesting time machine of a shot, nothing special maybe, but interesting to me. This shot was done on an iPhone.

April 2022: A month in 30 pictures
Back home after a couple of days away and trying to catch up with everything.
I picked some bluebells from the garden without thinking about what to put with them. The vintage magazine is blue, so are the tea bags and cup and saucer. It just didn't work in colour though. I tucked the hymn sheet in too.
