Scenic panoramas of the Rogue Valley and surrounding mountains await you at the Table Rocks Area of Critical Environmental Concern in Oregon. This 3,172-acre area is cooperatively managed by the Bureau of Land Management and The Nature Conservancy to provide educational opportunities and protect special biologic, geologic, and scenic values. Steep hiking trails lead to the top of Upper and Lower Table Rocks, while a half-mile accessible trail at Lower Table Rock provides visitors with a less strenuous option.

This floral arrangement is simply sitting in a vase that is cover by a paper bag and tied altogether with a ribbon. It brings this bride and groom's theme of grey and yellow together.

My bedside table.

Not sure of the story, but this table has been curbside for a few days. It is near garbage containers so I assume it is trash. It is next to the street at a neighboring apartment complex near where my wife and I live.

Reclaimed Heart Pine Top with Red Birch Legs & Frame

This table is our sofa table. The table is made from Reclaimed Heart Pine from the early 1800’s. The legs & frame are made from Red Birch. The Red Birch came from Deadhead Lumber Co.

They are a local Maine company reclaiming logs that were cut over 100 years ago and then sunk in Moosehead lake, Maine. As a green, rediscovered wood product, DeadHead Lumber qualifies for LEED Certification points.

Our tabletops are protected with WOCA Oil from Denmark. WOCA oil contains primarily cold pressed vegetable oils and is free of Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC), making it environmentally friendly. WOCA Oil is very durable and can protect the top from its daily use. The frame and legs are coated with linseed oil, which is natural and pressed from flax seed. We then cover the frame and legs with natural beeswax to bring out the color.

they'll be using these pics as their table numbers. cute!

This was an exercise in self-portraiture with reflection using a wide angle. Again, I was thinking about the book on body language that I read. I wanted my body position and arms to do most of the talking. I don't have much experience in shooting and posing people but I think having knowledge on body language would be very beneficial for all photographers. So, when you have time try and read a little on body language; it may help you with posing and it will definitely help you with your communication skills with your clients. As always criticism is welcome.

Hair-like sisal is used to playful effect in this table. The raw fibres are from the leaves of the agave plant, an agricultural waste left over from tequila distilleries.

Formerly produced to make rugs, ropes and fishing nets, sisal use has diminished with the invention of plastic.

Fernando Laposse's designs support local employment and the development of new agave plantations that help to retain rainfall on over-farmed, barren landscapes.

Waste Age: What can design do?

(October 2021 – February 2022)

We all know waste is a big problem. So how are we going to fix it?

A new generation of designers is rethinking our relationship to everyday things. From fashion to food, electronics to construction, even packaging - finding the lost value in our trash and imagining a future of clean materials and a circular economy could point the way out of the Waste Age.

Explore major new exhibits that capture the devastating impact of waste including a large-scale art installation by Ibrahim Mahama made from e-waste in Ghana.

The exhibition showcases some of the visionary designers who are reinventing our relationship with waste, including Formafantasma, Stella McCartney, The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, Lacaton & Vassal, Fernando Laposse, Bethany Williams, Phoebe English and Natsai Audrey Chieza.

'We must face the problem of waste – we can no longer ignore what happens to things when we get rid of them. Instead of thinking of objects as things that have an end life, they can have many lives. This is not just an exhibition it is a campaign, and we all have an active part in our future.' Gemma Curtin, Curator.

The tables in the Hostal were covered in this.

Table slid out a bit to show its positioning. We can also turn the table 90 degrees to sit 4 people at it comfortably and still have it nestled into the countertop.

This table and chairs were nestled awy from the sidewalk. Thier bright colour drew me in. I haven't been able to find any information on them On the table top there are words, poetry etched on metal spokes.

This morning I met up with a friend, bright and early at University of Alberta for a walk with our cameras. It was a perfect morning, warm, beautiful light and fall colours just beginning to peak.
