Gran Bazar - Istanbul

Something old, something new.

An empty chair goes by high above Whistler mountain.

Yep, here he is again, and I still miss him but the pain has subsided. There was no way we could keep him off the kitchen table so we accepted it and I just changed the tablecloth often. He was a curious cat, wanted to know what was going on and insisted on laying upon any piece of paper that you were reading or writing on. And if you were cooking he liked to help with the cutting up of meat and always demanded a lick of butter. Then he would need a drink of fresh water straight from the tap, and he drank from all of them, the kitchen, the laundry room, and the two bathrooms, sometimes he would follow me from room to room, drinking from each tap and finally slosh off for a nap :)

seen last year on this day in my kitchen.

My granddaughter came over to visit last weekend. The weather was miserable, so my son & I took her ten pin bowling followed by a meal at Whitford House Hotel in Wexford. Always a great experience, superb food & service. The whole place was looking very festive.

80/100 : My 100x photos this year will all feature benches or chairs. Uploading 3 photos today, they all seem to feature red, I must be having a red phase 😄

Oh good lord, The Buena Vista Cafe is actually closed?!? How can that be? You can actually see the floor!

Inside a 19th century workers cottage, it shows just how basic a lifestyle these pioneers endured.

An old suitcase which in all proability contains someone's life possessions is positioned on the old wooden table.

It tells a story of hardship and yet hope, hardship in a harsh environment and hope in the fact that perhaps for tonight they will have some comfort.

This is the edge of a table in a restaurant. Would anybody else notice this as found art ?

Holy atmosphere, simplicity and wonder all around ....

EXIF: NIKON D90 with Nikon Nikkor 18 - 55 lens, manual mode, f 11 (needed a pin sharp focusing all around), ISO 200, focal length 20 mm, auto exposure mode, cloudy weather adjusted white balance, center weighted average light metering mode, HDR made by only 1 original RAW shot with shutter speed 1/15 s, managing to accurately convey the scene's lighting conditions to the viewer, flash didn't go off, no tripod ...

We're going to cut holes in the back and put our stereo equipment in here. Then the table will go next to the fireplace in the living room.

Oh, by the way, it was five dollars. :)

Simple table scrap. It's a kind of a "part two," to this.
