As i mentioned in my last post, i got a new camera bag, so i can carry my camera with me when i am mountain biking.
The first try was very successful and i will do it more often for sure!
Also wanted to take some shots of my own bike (finally) after just takin shots of other bikes.. so here we go!
Its a 2016 Specialized Stumpjumper FSR Comp Carbon 29".
Now custom made:
- Monarch Plus rear shock (more travel and way better than the stock shock!)
- Hope Tech 3 E3 Brakes, custom color (orange blue black)
- Custom wheel set (Syntace rims, orange Hope hubs, blue spoke nipples)
- Hope cranks in orange
- Hope stem in orange + RaceFace carbon handlebars.
It rides very good and is a lot of fun..
but it wont look like this for long.. ordered the best bike i've ever ridden so far.. :-)
Pastel colors and muddy conditions.
You may have already seen it at the Wiener Fahrradschau or on several #bikeporn related snaps on Instagram.
Our friend Mattia of Legor Cicli joined us and built this disc brake-specific cyclocross monster in Barcelona.
It's made from Columbus Spirit tubing and features his signatures bended chainstays. The super hard to get T47 bottom bracket and Syntace thru-axle dropouts were used to make it even more fancy. To top things off it's equipped with a painted to match ENVE CX fork and ENVE cockpit.
Talking about paint; we applied the bbuc Fictional Nations Concept™ grid to match the BBURD of Grey Skinsuit, Jersey and Bidons.

Showcasing custom Quick-release stem for fun bar choices™
The bars need to be able to pivot so that the S-type stem still locks to the fork-crown without the bars fouling the wheel—but this can be achieved by switching out the stem-bolt for a seatpost Quick-release clamp. The bars are just common-or-garden utility 'North Road' bars flipped upside down for a shallow drop and shortened about three inches each side. Any bars could be used here from bullhorns to risers to drops - knock yourselves out
The other crucial part you need for extra reach and for easy switiching of bars without removing all the bar tape is an Aberhallo Stem adapter - this effectively moves the bars forwards (or higher - choice is yours) about an inch and is really great for accelerating and pumping up hills.
I did do this mod with some Syntace Peanut stem adapters first which worked well, but they were less elegantly made and don't allow for hot-swapping of the handlebars in quite the same way.
Lots of info about this setup here [inc link to UK stockist of stem adapter]

Caveats? Slower fold as there's one more thing to adjust. Folded balance is upset slightly due to additional weight off the centre so it has a tendency to lean. This wouldn't be an issue with a racked model. Erm that's it I think.

Not a trench run, a wall run. Sort of reverse trench run... ok - just a small Star Wars reference... ^^
On the dam of the Panzer Reservoir. Testing the next aero bars. This time the Syntace C3. I like them much more than the Profile Design V2. Still not perfect... But they have potential :)
