Its a nostalgic feeling to be syncing my music with my first iPod, a 15GB 3rd generation.
Having lost the portable hard disk means my entire music library is now gone. So having to sync only 5GB, it wasn't that big a deal.
I don't know but I feel the older generation of Apple products have more soul as compared to the newer ones with their mass market appeal. Correct me if I'm wrong.

it worked with my Firefox Accounts email and password and then i clicked "back to browsing" and black screen of death and then the browser hung (got ANR aka Android Not Responding), had to force close to get the browser to respond
Um, okay, so I set up a ntp server on my mythtv box (must keep the scheduled tv recordings starting on time); might as well use it as the primary timesync for the other boxes (using symmtime on the windows machines, a free ntp client) so all clocks are in sync.
Primary notebook (your looking at a screenshot of part of my desktop) has built-in bluetooth, so talks to pocketpc and nokia phone using that (incidentally also setting the correct time on those devices). This keeps all my information stores in perfect sync.(for bookmarks I use bookmarkbridge, works well)
When at work, the calender and contacts are synced directly to the exchange mail server there, using the WLAN.
Also open in the background are a vnc session to my storage box (which syncs to my ipod over firewire as my music library is stored there), a remote desktop session to a xp box used for home computing/surfing/whatever, and a ssh session to the mythbox. In the taskbar you see the incomparable firefox browser with too many tabs open.
Just an average day geeking away at home.
God I'm such a geek ;)

I wanted to slightly blur Canary Wharf but not get that horrible yellow/brown street light colour on the sky from the park lights by letting too much light in. Shot handheld at 1/8th, f8, ISO 200.
Strobist: YN460II (wide) at 1/16th floor level camera left triggered by rf602 set to rear curtain sync.
This is a simple test of Sync speed using Ebay triggers. The sync speed is 1/640 from the Fuji S9600, triggering a Canon 540EZ. Everything works fine mostly, but please keep the flash batteries charged well, as the triggering gets slow as the flash batteries get low.

An experiment with slow sync flash zooming in during exposure. Would have been better with a tripod rather than hand-held but it was spur-of-the-moment.

Trying to get a little more of a 3D effect...
The new rig consistently captures with synchronization. As I was told to expect, an occasional shot comes through out of sync. It happens so rarely that it's barely worth mentioning, tho. The rest of the time, no sync issues are detectable.
The new rig also allows me to shoot subjects much closer to the camera than I could with the old rig, since the camera objectives can be moved so close together. Close ups and portraits are a possibility now. This new rig does not have the hyper stereo base capability that my old rig did, so buildings/landscapes are off-limits until a new hyper-base frame can be fabricated. Getting used to the new range of subject distance and camera separation will be my focus for awhile. The variable stereo base frame allows 47-87mm (1.85-3.42 in.) separation.
The cameras capture HUGE detailed images, which slow down the alignment and anaglyph generation on the computer, choking it entirely in some cases. So far I have had to shrink the images somewhat to keep Anabuilder from choking. SPM seems to handle the large file sizes just fine.
Rear sync flash works with A-priority mode. I have set A as F/11 and camera adjusted S as 4s. Tripod is must for this kind of snap.

Another example of the benefits of using fill flash. In this case high speed sync as it was a bright day.
I wanted to take a picture of my wife with her sister's dog but didn't want them to have to squint into the sun. I also wanted to underexpose the background a bit and light them with a flash so they would stand out a bit from the background. I was wanting to shoot with a wider aperture but the brightness didn't allow it. If memory serves, I had a polaroid filter on to give me two stops, and even then I couldn't get to something like f5.6 without having an even faster shutter speed.
In post I extracted my wife and the dog and put them on their own layer. On a layer underneath, I then blurred the upper part of the background using a mask and the gradient tool so it blended in with the non blurred foreground. Some slight warming and brightening of the faces pretty much finished the process.
I like the results. :-) Thanks to my wife for being patient with me.
