I took this (and a few more pics) for John Higgins, which he used to fine tune his fantastic cover for Doctor Who Magazine Issue 141. Photographed during a recording break during filming of 'Greatest Show in the Galaxy' in the Elstree car park.
Amy is Sylvester's favorite person at work. She's due in June, so he's starting to run out of lap space.
100 strangers #5: Sylvester
I noticed Sylvester because he was striding down the street in El Paso's oldest neighborhood, Segundo Barrio, in full gear - the hat, the manicured mustache, the denim shirt and pants complete with a crease, the ostrich skin boots. I asked him if I could take his picture and learned two things about him: his first name and the fact that he likes to pose for photos. Other than that our communication was a little stunted - unfortunately I don't speak Spanish, he didn't speak more than a few words of English.
Taken with my new Tamron 18-200mm f3.5-6.3 lens. I'd been planning to take close-ups of ratties with it (naturally), and inspired by this photo by Invisible1955, I decided to try the black-and-white portrait approach as well.
I went through a phase of cutting out the subjects of photos. Somewhere there's a negative I can restore it from.
