I was going to do something more creative for this picture, but as you can see, I stupidly cut my thumb. (It's not the worst I've cut myself before with my knife.) I'm not used to having every single implement open at once (which, btw, is NOT a good idea) and the little blade cut me. I'm having a crappy day. My cat has been missing for about a week. It's hot inside my house. There was drama with the kids' mother today. So, what you see is what you get.
As far as the knife goes, it's my favorite. I had one just like it but lost it a few years ago on a farm in Vermont. David bought me this one for my birthday this year. It's a Swiss Army Knife...the best brand, as far as I'm concerned. It fits nicely in my pocket, but I keep it in my purse. You never know when you're going to need a pair of scissors, or a screwdriver, or a leather punch. Ok, well, maybe not the last one. :-)

Got to be a bad guy today during some simuntion training with the local PD. Good times were definitely had.
I was sitting at a table by the entrance to the ASPS convention and there was an old line of sellotape stuck on it - so I tidied it up with my handy penknife :-)

This was my first new pocketknife that my parent's bought me when I was 7 or 8. I used to take it on all my adventures.
Somewhere along the line it got superglue on one scale, which warped and popped off. I found it a few years ago, and then a couple of weeks ago, I was reading the SAK forums on Multitool.org and found a place to get replacement parts...so I decided to do a bit of restoration.
I prefer paper bank statements, though the bank would rather I receive them online. I check them and keep them in a folder but decided to tie the older ones together. I used the auger tool on my Swiss Army Knife to align the holes and the little screwdriver that fits in the corkscrew to poke the string through.

So today is another lazy day for A100Tim. While feeding the dog this morning I thought about getting my Knife in the red group. Actually I have been thinking about what kind if shot to do for awhile.
I was going to do a Macro but sometimes they are too boring unless it something interesting like a bug or flower. I know we hardly ever see those in Flickr.
So I added a little grass, and a Low POV and as an added bonus a Charcoal Grill in the background that I was too lazy to move out of the way.
I told you this was a lazy day.
Tomorrow I promise something more interesting.

An alcohol-induced musical composition. Or, a very preliminary version of a composition, anyway!
Personally I like the warm hues of the light, camera-right, especially on the venetian blinds. Not a particularly spectacular composition, but I like it.

I don't think this is quite how Swiss designed these little guys.
My trusty swiss army knife retired tonight. The scissors are the part I use the most. So it stands to reason that they would eventually give up the ghost.
The spring action broke a while back, now the whole thing has snapped.
I carry this EVERYWHERE. Even on my travels. Though of course it does travel in my checked baggage, just in case they think I might pluck the pilot of my plane to death with my mini tweezers!!
When I was 8, my grandparents gave me this knife for Christmas. I remember putting it in my pocket and having to hold my pants up with both hands because it was so heavy. It's an item from childhood I'm proud I didn't lose.

My brother made some scales out of this crazy looking G10 for the 0566 a while back and the dirtier the knife gets the better the scales look.
If you have to work on a national holiday that would actually be nice to honor, like MLK day (as opposed to "Presidents' Day"), you therefore deserve cheesecake.
Also, this is what a lot of my afternoons look like -- back to my office after a day of meetings or reference work, to have a snack and check my voicemail.
