Suwannee Swifty Store No. 130, corner of West Screven and North Laurel Street, Quitman, Georgia, ca. 1977. Suwannee Swifty Store No. 130 was one of the final remaining retail outlets of the Suwannee chain, pictured shortly before its sale in March 1977. The store had been operating at this same location since 1938 when it opened as one of the first Suwannee Stores. By the mid-1970s, the once-thriving regional chain had dwindled, and Store No. 130 was among the last active retail locations under the South Georgia Grocery Co. banner before its transition into Suwannee Swifty convenience stores.
