Early morning at the top of Steep Hill in Lincoln and this chap was sweeping the street in front of his shop.
I've not been out recently - I am finding sunrises take too much out of me at the moment! So I thought I'd start shooting sunsets.
Last night I was on the Quayside, tonight I headed to Seaton Sluice. I would have liked to gone to Charleys Garden but it was low tide! Next time!
Anyway - this is a long exposure using my Hitech 10 Stop!

Raised the Blinds and the angle I wanted had a wind chime right in the middle so got set up and when the truck came in view snapped.. Luck I only needed one shot.. LOL!! This is where some of my taxes goes...
Happy holidays, Flickrites!
First off, I’m sososooo sorry for being such a horrible contact over the past week and a half – and probably for the next week. I’m having an amazing trip, though, and I’m working like a mad dog into the wee hours of the morning so I’ll have lots of Hawaii photos ready for you after the new year. I promise I will be back and I will go through as many of your streams as I can, giving them the attention we both know your amazing photos deserve. :)
Anyhow, here’s a little holiday gift for you all: an aloha from one of the most remote beaches in Hawaii. By land, it’s reachable only by an overnight adventure, and I’ve detailed my experience in my previous caption (All Roads Lead to…) if you haven’t seen that yet.
This photo’s pretty simple compositionally: I wanted some practice with foam trails, and these were the biggest pink clouds left in the sky, so I just worked with a few lead-in lines. At first it bothered me that there wasn’t anything immediately exciting at that intersection, but after trying to clone in a boat on the horizon (which, don’t worry, I would announce if I actually did!) I decided the image didn’t need anything like that. Try to picture it -- what do you think?
Also -- normally, I don’t like to crop my photos significantly, but this time I went with the square crop for the tighter composition. I cropped off the right side of the original, which had more light foam trails leading from the right diagonally up to the left into that same focal point.
What do you think of the crop? Does it work for you?
Have an amazingly happy holiday week, everyone! All the best!
:)
P.S. embarrassingly, the horizon was tilted by 0.77 degrees. Replaced with corrected version. Y'all happy now? :)

Chongqing, finally here we are. I've spent 3 days is this amazing city last March and I'm now very exited to start publishing the work I've done there. Be ready to spend the next 3 months in the streets of the world biggest city, where old is perfectly matched with new...

# The Sweeper
Every morning at seven, he walks the same path. Red coat, worn cap, careful steps. The city leaves its secrets scattered on concrete—receipts from last night's dinners, ticket stubs from movies that made people cry.
He doesn't hurry. There's something about gathering what others discard. Each piece of paper tells a story he'll never know. A love letter thrown away in anger. A grocery list from someone who forgot to buy milk again.
The morning light hits the gray walls just right. For a moment, everything feels clean. New. Like maybe today will be different.
But he knows better. Tomorrow there will be more papers. More stories left behind.
And he'll be here, collecting them all.
I wish you could hear the subtle jangle they make when they move. Coming to my new collection and wholesale line soon.
