Macro Mondays - "Orange"
This is a macro of a clematis seed head. The orange glow comes from processing the picture using SwankoLab on the iPad.
Vintage and well put together VW. It had a tag on the back that said "shaggin' wagon". I guess when the van is a rockin', don't come a knockin'.
Happy Fiddle in the Middle Day! Hope it is going well for you all! Thanks so much for stopping by!
I processed more than one way...but, since Spring is here...I posted the green...I may do a seasonal grouping of the other shades in the future...
Then again, it's Friday night in New York City... Finding a free taxi at rush hour is a daunting task.

This flower defines my poker career....not moving with my back against the wall.

Today I can officially say that I'd live and die for my art...
For taking this shot on the street caused me to be in my first fight EVER... I was walking on 6th Avenue, had just bought a pair of new jeans and got out of the store with them on (and my old pants in a plastic bag). I felt good and cheerful. I cross the street on my way home and I see this pile of stuff covered with a plastic seemingly abandoned... and when I look down, notice this beautiful broken mirror that got my eye...
Normally, if I see the owner of stuff like this nearby, I would either ask permission or simply walk away. But there was no one around, so I knelt down and I took my self-portrait. As I'm standing up to leave, this really CRAZY black woman (sort of street-thug type) pops running from behind me and starts insulting & yelling at me, saying those are her things and calling me every nasty word. I argue back, and say I haven't touched anything and just took a photo in the mirror. And without seeing it coming, she punches me in the face near my mouth. I am the person who despises violence and conflict the most in this life, and I had NEVER been in a confrontation like this before. But with my lip burning, something inside me starts boiling in anger, and I swing her in the face as strong as I can with the plastic bag with my pants on that was in my hand, while we escalate swearing at each other.... as I'm leaving, she throws her iced drink (something with milk and tea) at me, and the plastic glass opens against my back, splashing liquid all over my leather jacket and my new jeans.... I decide to leave, but then I turn around and yelling at her I tell her I'm calling the cops. She encourages me to do so, saying there are 2 cars across the street...
I cross and try to fetch them, but the cars are empty. I wait for 5 minutes and they come out from (surprise!) eating some sweets at Starbucks (some of them even with a drink still in their hand) Hooray for stereotypes being true! I say I want to report what happened and they tell me it sounds like a harassment case but they inform me they can't take her or do anything at all since they haven't witnessed the offense. So after asking me if I need a hospital and me answering I was perfectly fine, just pissed off, they tell me about my two options:
I can either walk away and go on with my day ("We're sorry, sir, there are lots of crazy people on the streets, and unfortunately these are the rules... you can call your Congressman to complain if you want!") or I can file an official report that -quoting them- "Won't probably solve anything and will just end up on a table in a huge pile of other ones".
What a society we live in!!! Someone can publicly attack you and walk away freely... without even a scare from the authorities... What a feeling, that the offender seems more protected than the victim... Oh, well...
I left the scene with a slightly swollen lower lip but proud of myself for not running away scared in front of such craziness, and I walked away laughing to myself with the consolation that at least I would have the best story ever to go with a self-portrait!! :-P

Thought I'd experiment with some light and take some abstract pictures, the hipstamtic seems to like that.
Down loaded a new app the other day called Swankolab, this allows you to doctor your pictures after you've taken them. Haven't really experimented with it yet!

#MobileArtistry is creative edits, beautiful images, unique perspectives, stellar shots, and happy accidents. IE, stuff you won't find on the pop page.
Through this ongoing project we hope to expose people to art and artists they may not normally get to see, learn about one another's process, and encourage each other to push the limits of creativity.

Inside a forest dream / the white dove / holds her truth #micropoetry
I’m so grateful and honored to be featured by @mobileartistry and I’d like to thank the administrators for facilitating this tag and especially Will @computerjones for his support. I’ve learned so much from all the featured artists here and truly appreciate how everyone shares their techniques.
I’ve always been obsessed with light, shadow, and anything macabre. Most of my editing is done later at night, in bed, lights off, and when I should be asleep. Most times, words come to mind while I’m editing a photo and I include them as micropoetry. It takes me forever to get anywhere as my car stops continually on country roads, during overcast days or at sundown.
I use my Iphone 4 (almost) exclusively. My favourite apps are Snapseed, LensLight, Noir, DistressedFX, ScratchCam, and Hipstamatic, including its SwankoLab. Through MobileArtistry, I’ve just discovered TapFX and I’ve used it on my feature photo. Hope it’s enjoyable. Here’s the process:
Hipstamatic: Background with James lens and C-Type Plate film (using the mirror to view and snap)
TapFX: Added doves and smoke. Starting with small doves inside the mouth, then gradually increasing the size to make them appear closer to the viewer.
Camera +: Square cropping and applied the ‘pinhole’ FX
PaintFX: applied lip colour and painted ‘contrast’ over the entire thing
TapFX (again): small points of light on doves and ended with the Vintage filter
