I'd upload a picture showing all the neat parts and pieces I got at BrickCon last weekend, but It'd take me about fifteen different pictures to actually get anything accomplished, so this single one will have to do.

This original design uses the main motif in an offset pattern - I found it easier to do each motif in turn as shown. Lots of shading opportunities to make individual motifs stand up against the others.
