One of many ongoing approaches, where I move through the world as a harvester of images stumbling, strolling, lurching, equal parts accidental, and intentional. My concerns circumnavigate around questions that resist easy answers: time as texture, presence as performance, possibility as glitch. I trace the contours of decay and growth, hope and entropy, searching for the quiet collisions where meaning might emerge. Each image is less a document than a provocation an invitation to reconsider what we 'see', and what we ignore.

My wing is ready to flourish
I would rather return
for had I stayed time flourishing
luck would be lacking from my sojourn.
Gerhard Scholem, Salute from Angelus
There is a picture by Klee titled Angelus Novus. There, an angel is shown who looks as though he were about to remove himself from something he is staring at. His eyes are wide open, his mouth is agape and his wings are expanded*. This is what the Angel of History must look like. He has his face turned towards the past. Where we see a chain of events appear, he sees only a catastrophe, which unceasingly piles debris atop of debris and hurls it before his feet. He would well like to linger, to awaken the dead and to reassemble things smashed. But a storm is blowing from Paradise, a storm caught in his wings and so powerful, no longer can the Angel fold them. This storm is driving him relentlessly into the future, to which he has turned his back, while the pile of debris in front of him is growing sky-high. This storm is the very thing we call progress.
Walter Benjamin: On the Concept of History, 1940
The translation is mine.
* Here Benjamin's wording is ambivalent. Had he written "aufgespannt" this would have plainly meant "spread"; however, he uses "ausgespannt", which may mean "spread" - as well as its near opposites, that is, "unhitched", "unharnessed" or "relaxed".
Paul Klee's Angelus Novus was purchased by Walter Benjamin in 1921. Following WW2 his friend Gershom Scholem inherited the picture.

On the same street (Ann Street, north) the functioning factories seem to have adopted a corrugated uniform of walls punctuated by small windows, plumbing and the occasional surveillance camera (?).
Taken with the EF 70-200mm f/4L USM with the usual P-P of the RAW in PS.
An all-seeing eye under sterile chrome — surveillance camouflaged in elegance. At BMW Welt, function and design merge in silent observation
Precision and repetition — the lens never blinks. A calm, clinical landscape where lines dominate and surveillance becomes part of the aesthetic language.

Pont-Cardinet is a railway station in Paris. It is situated on the Paris–Le Havre railway. It is the first station on the line originating from Gare Saint-Lazare, Paris. The station building is situated above the track level alongside Rue Cardinet. The station is equipped with escalators and Solari destination boards. The main line continues towards Clichy whilst a small line, now closed, branches off towards Pereire-Levallois and links St Lazare to the RER C, this branch was once part of Ligne d'Auteuil and closed in June 1996.
Some (more) modern buildings built around a battlement of the old city wall in the cool medieval town of Taormina Sicily. The security camera on top looks a bit out of place!
A global digital health ID...Woo-WHO!

This means, instead of freely going where I want, I will be forever banned from restaurants, gyms, stores, hospitals, and travelling. Woohoo! It’s like fascist COVID measures all over again (shhhhh...let’s not look at all those excess deaths).

Please, World Health Organization, take my freedom away. Lock me down, pretty please! I can’t wait for an international NWO organization to strip the sovereignty of my nation and undemocratically exercise authority over me.
Yay! Please centralize power…please…please…I love authoritarianism! I can’t wait for my WHO masters to eventually roll out their human microchipping program—I’ll be the first in line. Please give me the 666 Beast Chip jab! I really want to be a part of your new transhuman slave race. Since I’m a total sheep, I know that you have my best interests in mind. As a good global citizen, I believe that global governance is better than liberty and sovereignty. Safety over freedom!
The European Commission...the executive branch of the European Union (EU) *cough* *cough* isn’t it odd that the kingdom of the antichrist will rise out of Europe? You will not be able to buy or sell without the Mark of the Beast...ya...but...it’s so safe and convenient. Plus the Bible is just fantasy; there is no Beast system being put together right in front of our very eyes...Digital IDs...Central Bank Digital Currencies…Social Credit Scores…Universal Basic Income…Transhumanism…it’s all just science fiction…but look on the bright side: there are more than two genders!
