Astronomers read the shadows cast by far away objects and decipher the surface features of worlds beyond our reach. I walk the smooth sidewalks of New York City and can't connect. Sliding sideways I'm off balance. Density unyielding enfolds me in thick time. I must breathe again to touch you. This small reality means more to me than the surface of a sun that I will never know. I want to believe this.
