Station Approach, Shanklin

Bilbao Guggenheim museum

A male great white shark (Carcharodon carcharias) just barely breaks the surface with his dorsal and caudal (tail) fins. A gull sits on the surface in the shark's path.

While I never saw any of the sharks make a concerted effort to attempt to grab a gull, their presence definitely seemed to pique the curiosity of a few of the sharks enough to get them to swim towards them a few times. The gulls had the sense to fly off when the sharks got close.

Sea glass (also called beach glass)

Description

Material: Glass fragments, originally from bottles, jars, windows, or other manufactured items.

Surface: Matte, frosted, slightly pitted texture. This is caused by long-term abrasion and chemical weathering.

Shape: Rounded, softened edges, no sharp corners.

Formation:

Broken glass is tumbled by sand, waves, and currents over many years.

The process smooths edges and creates the characteristic frosted surface.

Time scale: Typically 20–40+ years (sometimes much longer) to reach this finish.

What you have specifically

Mixed-color collection: cobalt blue, aqua, green, yellow, amber, clear/white, red

Texture appears:

Consistently frosted and evenly etched

No sharp edges → indicates fully weathered pieces

Likely a combination of:

Common colors: clear/white, green, brown/amber

Less common/rare: cobalt blue, red, bright yellow (these are typically from specialty glass like medicine bottles, signal lights, or decorative items)

Key visual indicators (confirmed in your image)

Uniform translucency (not transparent like fresh glass)

Soft, organic contours

Slight internal color gradients due to thickness

Occasional tiny pits/abrasion marks

The divers return to the surface ready to climb aboard the boat and make the journey back to the shore

The edges of ponds and small lakes provide vegetation that interacts seasonally with the water and its reflections...always a fun subject to meditate on.

The stunning curved-glass canopy on the east side of Canary Wharf Station, captured early in the morning; a quieter and more intimate counterpart to the main west canopy, which I captured late at night in June.

have a super week!!!!

Blooming season of "SomeiYoshino" cherry blossom will be over at the end of this week in my town. It's a shame that I can not reproduce awesome petal blizzard by my camera.

A fallen flower on the surface of brook "落花流水” means mutual love of lady (flower) and gentleman (brook).

Cycle Lane Line Markings in Rank's Green #Cycle #Lane #Line #Markings #Rank's #Green

This is my first Classic Space MOC. I wanted to build something for Classic Space, but not the overused color scheme of blue, gray and trans yellow. This color scheme is used in a few vehicles and one cruiser in the beginning of the 80s.
