Supported by the Insamuch Band, Harringay, founded by Mrs Lascenes Lucas, 1916.
Originally the Dispensary for Women and Children in Virginia Road, Bethnal Green, this moved to 125 Hackney Road in 1867, and then to larger premises on the current site in 1870. It was the North Eastern Hospital for Children until 1907, when it was renamed the Queen's Hospital for Children. There was a convalescent branch in Bexhill-on-Sea. By the time I was a student there in the 1970's it was under control of Great Ormond Street, but went to Barts and the London in 1996 and closed shortly afterwards. In 2013 there are plans to demolish the buildings and erect modern housing. That's a very short sterile potted history of a great healthcare institution.

GRAFENWOEHR, Germany. (May 6, 2017) – Medics from the Grafenwoehr Health Clinic treat injured Soldiers during clinic’s Multinational Trauma Life Support and Emergency Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) training exercise 6 May on Tower Barracks. Clinic Soldiers treating the injured had to overcome a number of difficulties and challenges once the mock casualties had been moved in to the clinic for triage, and encountered situations which were drawn from real-life combat field hospital records and deployed MEDDAC Soldier’s personal accounts.
The exercise was conducted in two phases, the first taking place in Grafenwoehr and built around a scenario wherein mock-injured Soldiers involved in a live-fire training accident in the adjacent Grafenwoehr Training Area (GTA) are rushed to the Grafenwoehr Health Clinic for immediate treatment after an explosive device malfunctions. The mock casualties were then MEDEVAC’ed to the larger German partner medical facilities located 27 miles away in the city of Amberg.

Orphaned and vulnerable children at the Aloysius Rural Mission School, Mukono, Uganda, which has received support from the Alliance.
The school's founder, Aloysius Nluagi Kizito, says, 'these children need special care to heal the traumas in their minds. Some strive to survive on their own. Can you imagine an under 5 preparing posho on their own?'

CAMP RED CLOUD, South Korea – Warrior Country residents undaunted by winter snows kept their early morning appointment with this year’s Super Bowl, coming out in their hundreds to Area I installations for a live telecast of America’s premier football event, cheering – sometimes groaning – as the Baltimore Ravens prevailed over the San Francisco 49ers 34-31.
The Army gave the Soldiers the day off so they could be part of the Super Bowl XLVII excitement and see it all live, even though they’re stationed half a world away.
There was also plenty of food – free breakfasts at Area I clubs, an all-you-can-eat deal at the Camp Casey food court, as well as prize drawings for TV sets, i-Pads and other giveaways.
For Soldiers and families stationed in Korea, catching the telecast live from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans meant showing up early, with on-post facilities opening their doors at six.
Free breakfast – eggs, grits, creamed beef, biscuits, bacon, sausage, hash browns, coffee, juice – awaited them at a variety of on-post facilities: at the Gateway Club and Warrior’s Club on Camp Casey, the Iron Triangle on Camp Hovey, Reggie’s on Camp Stanley, and Mitchell’s Community Club and Conference Center on Camp Red Cloud.
That was followed later in the morning by still more food – at Mitchell’s, for example, hot wings, fried wings and hot dogs; at the Gateway, three kinds of pizza – pepperoni, sausage, cheese – the spread varied somewhat from club to club.
And the Camp Casey Food Court drew a Super Bowl crowd of its own – about 230 people, offering “all-you-can-eat” for $11.99, for which patrons could order continually from the eateries of their choice.
Soldiers said they were glad for the live game, the food and the chance to socialize with their battle buddies.
“I think it’s generous ‘cause it’s not a given, it’s a privilege,” Pvt. Luis Campos, a Ravens fan with the 552nd Signal Company, said of being given the day off to watch the game.
“For them doing that, it takes the stress off the Soldiers, especially us being overseas and stuff. Everybody back home, they get a chance to watch the game. So now we get the privilege and stuff, so it makes it better.”
“”I really appreciate it, especially being here in Korea,” said Spc. Austin Ross of Company B, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division. Ross had been pulling for the 49ers.
Had there not been the Super Bowl holiday, Ross would have been at work.
“It’s in the morning, it’d be during work, and it’s something American that I get to do here in Korea. I appreciate it,” he said.
“This is great,” said Sgt. 1st Class Randy Waits, a motor sergeant and 49ers fan with Headquarters Support Company, Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division.
“It’s great the way they provide the opportunity for the Soldiers to see this and be able to come together, be overseas, away from our families. Just like a holiday. Being able to come together and socialize.”

The Quba Mosque (Quba' Masjid or Masjid al-Quba, Arabic: مسجد قباء), in the outlying environs of Medina in Saudi Arabia, is the oldest mosque in the world. Its first stones were positioned by the Islamic prophet Muhammad on his emigration from the city of Mecca to Medina and the mosque was completed by his companions. Muhammad spent more than 20 nights in this mosque (after migrating) praying qasr (a short prayer) while waiting for Ali whose house was behind this mosque.
According to Islamic tradition, offering two rakaʿāt of nafl prayers in the Quba Mosque is equal to performing one Umrah. Quba Masjid is the first mosque built in the history of Islam and was built as soon as Muhammad arrived on the Hijra.
Muhammad used to go there, riding or on foot, every Saturday and offer a two rak'ah prayer. He advised others to do the same, saying, "Whoever makes ablutions at home and then goes and prays in the Mosque of Quba, he will have a reward like that of an 'Umrah." This hadith is reported by Ahmad ibn Hanbal, Al-Nasa'i, Ibn Majah and Hakim al-Nishaburi.

The only light source was a tealight candle as the mother went into "primal mode" and wanted to be in a dark room and not talk... and this is how it all happened.
I personally love this photo because it shows a woman still looking elegant and beautiful during one of the most empowering yet vulnerable times of her life - I also love the bond that these sisters had. The sister didn't leave her side during this period of labour.
The CARES Program will help the government in implementing its pandemic response plan the National Relief Program to respond to public health emergencies and to mitigate adverse economic and social impacts caused by the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. It will pay special attention to establishing gender-segregated hospital units and facilities, and ensuring that additional incentives are extended to women health workers. Further, the program will increase women's resilience to the pandemic's economic shocks. It will promote resilience to external shocks and strengthen public service delivery, especially in the health sector, contributing to a reduction in shared health risks. The program facilitates the government's mapping of the poor and vulnerable populations for effective food distribution and other relief service delivery.

Soldiers from the Gate City-based 1032nd Transportation Company provide transportation support to United States Navy Sept. 14, 2013, at Norfolk Naval Air Station. Twenty four Soldiers in 12 vehicles carried six unserviceable target boats from Norfolk to Fort Pickett where they will have a second life as hard targets on Range 13. The Soldiers returned to Gate City Sept. 15 after traveling more than 10,800 total miles without accident or incident. Next Up we take a Look to the Focus Cup Championship a Racing Series which Features the use of Ford Focus Road Cars Built to Racing Specifications. Thease Cars all Use The ZTEC 2.0 TDCI Engines and Have Proven to be Very Quick and also Very Twitchy when out Racing.

with the Focus of this Race being on the Lotus Elise S1 S2 and S3 with Just One Qualifying Session and Just 1 Race This will be A Test of Will Power and Determination on the Track to see who can Take Victory.

With Three Very Quick Drivers in Maurizio Jason and Simon it was Time to see if Anyone Could challenge them and Win the Only Race of the Day for the Lotus Elise Trophy.

In Second Place was (John Lamaster) in his Lotus Elise S2 135R with a Lap Time of 54.781 and an Average Speed of 66.75mph. Fantastic work John and So Great to see a New Face on the Podium Taking P2 what an Incredible Driver.
In Third Place was (David Alexander) in his Lotus Elise S1 with a Lap Time of 55.589 and an Average Speed of 66.62mph. Very Well Driven Dave Keeping an Eye out all over the Place and Bringing Home a Superb P3 Finish.

Modified Ford Series (Qualifying Group A)
Now it was Time to head Back to the Blue Badged Ford Machines Once again as the Modified Ford Series Rolled out onto the Race Track with each car being Heavily Modified from their Road Counterparts. With Escort Cosworth's and RS200's Roaring and Ready to go it was Time to see what the First Group A set of Drivers could do in Qualifying.
Due to how large the Grids were and the Fact that both Group A and Group B Have Different Races I will only be putting up results from both Qualifying Sessions from Group A and Group B. Modified Ford Series (Qualifying Group A)
In First Place Taking Pole Position and the Fastest Lap was (David Cockell) in his Ford Escort Cosworth with a Best Lap Time of 49.872 and a Top Speed of 87.19mph. Very Well Done David Keeping that Escort on the Track Must Have Taken some Practice no Doubt Amazing work on Getting Pole.
In Second Place was (Wayne Crabtree) in his Ford RS200 with a Best Lap Time of 51.121 and a Top Speed of 85.06mph. Very Fast Drive from Wayne to take P2 and a Very Solid Drive Thought.

Enduro KA (Qualifying)
The Final Qualifying Session of the Day Had Come and its the Enduro KA'S. with all of the Cars on the Grid being Models of the Popular Ford KA made Between 1998-2009 thease Cars were Fun City cars that could get you from A to B with Ease. They were Also Build on a tight budget meaning that Handling Performance and Comfort were a Big Selling point of thease Brilliant little cars.
The Racing Versions seen here in the pictures however are built for Racing. they use different tyres but still the same Legendary 1.3 Dura Tec Engine found in their Road Going Counterparts.
Lets Take a look at Qualifying and see which KA and Driver made it to the top step of the podium.

In Second Place was (Fat Boys Racing Matt Pinny) with a Lap Time of 1:03.584 and an Average Speed of 67.51mph. Well Done there Matt Improving up to P2 and Taking Home a Well Deserved Finish in the Standings for Race 3.
In Third Place was (Alex Reade Motorsport's Luke Reade and Chris Reade) with a Lap Time of 1:03.606 and an Average Speed of 67.44mph. Very Good Come Back Drive for Both Luke and Ale to Finish Third Great Driving.
Many Twists and Turns Have Benn brought into Race 3 with the Top Three Drivers now being Shuffled Around the Gird into different Positions. With One More Race to Go who will be The Last Driver of the Day on the Top Step of the Podium.

In First Place was (Octane Junkies Adam Smith and Martyn Smith) with a Lap Time of 1:03.442 and an Average Speed of 67.82mph. An Amazing Final Win for the Day to Octane Junkies Adam and Martyn Smith Congratulations and Very Well Driven.
In Second Place was (Piston Heads Peter Dignan) with a Lap Time of 1:03.781 and an Average Speed of 67.54mph. Incredible work there Peter Getting P2 and Standing on the Podium and Incredible Achievement.
In Third Place was (IP Racing Oliver Wilmot and Scott Parkin) with a Lap Time of 1:03.710 and an Average Speed of 67.47mph. Very Well Done to both Scott and Oliver on that Fantastic P3 Achievement. Something Very Special to Remember for both of you.

This is a photograph from the Rathfarnham 5KM Road Race and Fun Run which took place in Rathfarnham, Co. Dublin, Ireland on Sunday 28th September 2013 at 10:00. This is one of the most popular runs in South County Dublin and is held in support of St. Luke's Cancer Hospital, Rathgar. This year's race attracted over 1,300 participants and the run is open to runners, joggers and walkers. The course is one of the fastest 5ks in the country with a downhill start and finish. This is an excellently organised race with marhsalling at every junction and Garda enforced road closures for the duration of the race. This race was held on a beautiful autumn morning. There was little or no breeze and there was mild temperatures of around 15C for the race.

The race starts at the easterly side of the N81 Tempelogue Road and Springfield Avenue. The start area is shown here on Google StreetView (goo.gl/maps/kg7FY). The race follows Springfield Avenue along the side of Bushy Park. The race overlaps the final kilometer and the finish as it proceeds to the Rathfarnham Road (Shown here Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/gRrI6). The route heads north on Rathfarnham road as there is a very gentle incline until the junction with the Temleogue Road is reached and runners make a sharp left turn onto the N81 (shown here Google StreetView goo.gl/maps/51S2t). The race then heads south along Templeogue Road where the runners can see the course unfold straight infront of them. The race turns left at Springfield Avenue again (start area) and the final Kilometer is as the first to the finish area (Google Streetview goo.gl/maps/1R08S) just before the Rathfarnham Road Junction. Overall this course is a flat and fast course. There is a net gain of 15M over the whole course with slightly downhill gradients at the start and towards the finish. The course is completely left-handed which makes for favourable conditions. All being equal the course provides an excellent opportunity for every from elite competitors to joggers to set a fast time for themselves.

Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting does take a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.

The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.

I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.

Canadian Paralympians, including Chantal Petitclerc, met with Minister Peter Fassbender today at the Richmond Oval as part of a Canadian Tour to support Paralympic Sport ahead of the Rio 2016 Games. The event was organized by the Canadian Paralympic Committee and the Canadian Wheelchair Sports Association, and included a roster announcement for Canada’s Wheelchair Rugby team.
Nearly a dozen Soldiers from the Maryland National Guard’s 224th Area Support Medical Company deployed this morning in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. They will spend the next several weeks at Fort Hood, Texas, to receive additional training. From there they will travel overseas for their year-long mission. The specialized medical unit traces its lineage back to 1921. In addition to landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day, June 6, 1944, the unit most recently deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2008.
