This Oregon junco came onto this felled trunk and pecked away at it, supervised by a song sparrow in the background.
I think the garden supervisor was checking if the cats of the neighbourhood have left any messages in the fruit and vegetable beds of our garden but then something else caught his attention. Tofu is easily distracted. :)
Today we have had the most sunny day of the week (things will go downhill again weatherwise in the next days). My sister and I spent the morning at a gardening exhibition which usually takes place every year but in the last two years had had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. I bought several plants and when I returned home I was busy in the garden under the watchful eyes of the cats. Especially Sethi was very interested in what I was doing.

One side of Timmy is the adventurer: today a wall was newly concreted at the construction site at the creek behind the house. Two hours later Timmy checked the quality of the work. Fortunately, the concrete was already solid enough so that he did not leave paw prints :-)))

A little while ago I posted a photo of Storm and me looking at a part of a pasture were we planned to cut down the trees to improve the pasture and get some firewood.
The work has now started and Storm was back as a supervisor today. He commented on the farmer being a little lazy, with slow progress, but was otherwise pleased. And bribed with a little deer meat he concluded that everything, including the work ethics of the old farmer, was honky dory!

This picture is for the group Happy Caturday and this week the theme is "It's a cat's job".
In this picture Noah is supervising my husband the "handyman" who was working on the house right outside of the back door. This chair is in the perfect spot to supervise what's going on outside. He can also see the wildlife from here and is in the perfect spot to jump down on any unsuspecting lizards that may get in. That is his favorite job... the big bad lizard hunter!! Since no lizards volunteered to pose with Noah we had to go with his second choice of supervisor. =^..^=

This shot was taken 3 weeks after Timmy moved in with me. At that time Timmy was not yet allowed to run free, so I had secured the patio with a cat net. About three weeks later, the net was removed and he was allowed to enjoy his freedom.

Cette fresque de la ville de Québec raconte l'histoire de Québec et intègre de nombreux caractères spécifiques à la capitale. Elle permet de reconnaître l'architecture, la géographie, les fortifications et les escaliers, tout en rappelant le rythme des saisons avec leurs couleurs changeantes. La Fresque des Québécois rend aussi hommage à une quinzaine de personnages historiques et honore des dizaines d'auteurs et d'artistes dans ses vitrines évocatrices.

This fresco of Quebec City tells the story of Quebec and incorporates many characters specific to the capital. It allows to recognize the architecture, the geography, the fortifications and the staircases, while recalling the rhythm of the seasons with their changing colors. La Fresque des Québécois also pays tribute to some fifteen historical figures and honors dozens of authors and artists in its evocative display cases.

Remembering Daisy when she spent time on top of my kitchen cupboards. She was suitably smug there as she knew she was safely out of reach. Throughout her life she had excellent but “selective” hearing - somehow she was completely deaf to words like NO, DON’T...
I’d like to thank everyone for their wonderful messages of support this week - it has been a great comfort to know how much Daisy was loved by our friends here. I’m sure Daisy & all of our precious pets will live on in our memories. Remember the love & fun they gave us even while we mourn their loss. For them, celebrate a happy Caturday.

After three partly rainy days, the sun was shining this morning, a perfect washing day. As soon as I opened the folding clothes line, Romeo landed on it, having decided that I was in great need of a good supervisor :)
Bella was enjoying the sunshine through the patio doors, watching for birds in the garden.

Jasper takes his post on the cool tile floor of the dinette supervising as we finish clean-up after lunch. He'll also help out with the stray bit of cheese that might be left on a plate. You know, just in case the garbage bin is full and we have no other place to dispose of stray cheese

We have had some big projects here for the past week. Here you see Nigel supervising installation of our new "Purrfect Fence" cat containment system. We had an old one we put up almost 20 years ago, but now we have a commercially installed fence and we are putting in the adaptation for the top of it so we have no escapees! Hopefully not. Keeping them safe gives me peace of mind. It's not the road that is the scariest thing down here on the Elk River, but the other critters like coyotes, other peoples' dogs, foxes, and on and on.
The way we see it, we have already put in 3 hard days of work, but today, we have ALL the hardware on and arms in the correct positions for most of the fencing- 200 feet worth! It will be a big cat-safe area! Once we finish with all the arms, we will attach polyfencing and make sure it's all attached with no areas for escape! The arms are also spring-loaded so that if a cat comes up underneath, it will bend down some and they will feel they are falling and will stop! The arms are set at about 7 feet tall.
(Okay, I sound like a commercial for Purrfect Fence, but we have worked with the founder and owner, Matt Hough, to get this right and he is just a great person, and we love his company! It has kept cats safe for us for a LONG time! www.PURRFECTFence.com )

During the Covid restrictions, the Gyms were not allowed to open so they went to the park to go through their routines. Dogs came with their owners!

I watched the ibis for some time and the egret seemed fascinated in intently watching them feed, even moving along with them. I wonder if it was hoping that the ibis would stir up some egret prey, but the egret's behavior was interesting
