Here is finally my video of the rare total supermoon eclipse of september 28 2015 captured from France.

I made a small "movie introduction", if you prefer you can directly go at 1:08 .

All pictures were taken during this event.

You will find most of them in this album : flic.kr/s/aHskmB4pXT

Some images are more detailed because they are composed of several photos stacked together with Registax or Autostakkert freewares.

Feel free to share and give me your impression about this video.

Technical Datas :

- Canon EOS 600D at prime focus of a 200/800 mm newtonian without coma corrector

Initially went to Sutton Scarsdale Hall, Derbyshire, trying to catch the Super Blue Moon (low moon rising). Within 10 minutes of arriving there, it began to rain, sleet, snow and hail quite profusely It was bitterly cold and cloud simply covered the moon as it appeared. Later that evening around 10:30, the Super Blue Moon was high and climbing. He's a little of what I saw. Hope you enjoy it too :)

The technical term for a Supermoon is perigee-syzygy. This was a rare opportunity to see the Super Blue Moon!

Super Moon Eclipse

The Shadow of the Earth on the Moon last night. This was near the total eclipse at about 03:30 ( I couldn't sleep) seen from Winchester in the U.K.

View from Highfields Park, Lenton, Nottingham, across to University Boulevard (A6005). Although the Supermoon that evening was a disappointment, its presence created a unique ambience and expectation across Nottinghamshire.

The beautiful moon coming over the horizon.

Tonight's SuperMoonEclipse is actually a combination of three events:the Moon is full, the Moon is at Perigee, its closest position to the Earth, which makes it look 14% larger in diameter, and a lunar eclipse.

I decided to try shooting the Moonrise and eclipse last night. It was a nice night to be out despite the chilly air. Figuring out the camera settings was challenging enough, but the condensation on my camera equipment became a real problem. I had to change locations from the beach to the wildlife sanctuary. I missed a portion of the total phase drying off the camera and lens. Before the conclusion of the eclipse, the problem came back and I had to stop before it was done. I'm not a night photographer and this was a learning experience. I found that the live view produced the best results. I don't understand why the results were SO much better in live view. The exposures were DECIDEDLY BETTER.

Disappointing view of the supposedly 'Biggest and brightest' Super Moon. 14 November 2016. Very hazy due to constant cloud cover. It made a few, very brief appearances, seconds rather than minutes.

The inevitable eclipse group shot

This was the moon over Guildford at 5.30am on 28th September,2015. It is slightly out of focus because my eyes are not in the custom of focusing at such an hour. Earlier,a little after 3 am,it was more orangey in hue,and was difficult to see hiding behind an orange street lamp. Earlier still, one could see lots of little ones, further out in space, slowly twinkling as they moved across the sky and Heathrow.

I grabbed this shot of last night's super moon eclipse from my backyard during a commercial break during Fear the Walking Dead. With the recent weather, I didn't expect to see any of the moon last night. Happy to have been proved wrong. Last October, I came prepared and shot the eclipse with 420mm worth of lens from a nice spot on the water. This time, the backyard and a 200mm lens did it. Spent more time just enjoying it this go round. Works for me :-)
