An impromptu trip to Chicago to see my favorite artist's work--Takashi Murakami's The Octopus Eats its Own Leg exhibition (2017). It was, without question, the best show I've ever seen.

TAKASHI MURAKAMI'S KAIKAI & KIKI
KAIKAI KIKI CO., LTD.
Inspired by traditional Japanese paintings and kawaii (cute) culture, Takashi Murakami's Kaikai and Kiki will take new form in this year's Parade moving from the Superflat artistic style to helium character balloons. Like their past sculptural incarnations, Kaikai (the character in white) possesses long ears and a round, adorable face, while Kiki (the character in pink) has a more fantastical appearance, complete with three eyes and protruding fangs. As they fly down the Parade route, they are posed with heads high and arms and legs thrust out in a joyful expression. At 3-stories tall and 40-feet long, the Parade's newest art balloons will be the largest renditions of Kaikai and Kiki to date.

On the way back from Colorado, we made a short stop in North Platte, Nebraska, to check out Buffalo Bill's house and ranch. It's a really cool little place to stop, so I highly recommend it! Not to mention that North Platte is a cool town and has a lot of great old stuff to look at, especially a lot of cool old neon Motel signs! Hope I can visit again someday, even though Nebraska is superflat and makes hillbillies like me cry.
This was a limited-edition Kiki Plush toy by Takasi Murakami that we picked up at the Singapore Toy Convention in 2005.
Takashi Murakami (born 1 February 1963 in Tokyo), is a prolific contemporary Japanese artist who works in both fine arts media, such as painting, as well as digital and commercial media. He blurs the boundaries between high and low art. He appropriates popular themes from mass media and pop culture, then turns them into thirty-foot sculptures, "Superflat" paintings, or marketable commercial goods such as figurines or phone caddies.

The image consists of 3 channels Hydrogen Alpha, Oxygen III and Sulphur II The total exposure is 16hrs 15minutes.
This image was processed from pre-integrated stacks using Pixinsight weighted batch process and I processed the image using Pixinsight tools and Rus Cromans XT suit - The channels were combined using a Pixelmath script from Coldest nights to dynamically blend the three channels into a fasle colour narrowband image
NGC6888 is know as the Crescent Nebula and has a Wolf Rayet star at its centre, WR 136. Its age is estimated to be around 4.7 million years and it is nearing the end of its life. Within a few hundred thousand years, it is expected to explode as a supernova
