The fanciful decoration on the top of the horse barn represents Annie Oakley's trademark trick, shooting a hole through the middle of the Ace of Hearts. This barn was very run down but has since been restored to perfect condition!
On the way back from Colorado, we made a short stop in North Platte, Nebraska, to check out Buffalo Bill's house and ranch. It's a really cool little place to stop, so I highly recommend it! Not to mention that North Platte is a cool town and has a lot of great old stuff to look at, especially a lot of cool old neon Motel signs! Hope I can visit again someday, even though Nebraska is superflat and makes hillbillies like me cry.

We digress. We found an Enigma CD under the backseat of our company Wrangler and have been listening to it fucking nonstop for the last week. Remember the first time you saw the ocean or snow or the Seychelles from a G6? It's like that. So, we would like to formally invite Enigma to the Sergio Traverso Wine Winery to record their next album. We've constructed a studio and hired a team of engineers. An impromptu trip to Chicago to see my favorite artist's work--Takashi Murakami's The Octopus Eats its Own Leg exhibition (2017). It was, without question, the best show I've ever seen.

Painting
A band of youths (2020) is a series of paintings that expresses modern-day issues on identity and consumerist culture using vivid, illustrative, flat art techniques. My practice takes inspiration from cartoons and imported Japanese anime and manga from my childhood, and the Superflat art and street art community, including artists Yoshimoto Nara and Barry McGee.
The paintings consist of portraits of characters each carrying an exaggerated, distressed facial expression that portray anxiety and hidden emotions. The pink-blushed nose and cheeks of each character, which is a common feature of chibi (small) characters in Japanese anime, depicts our vulnerability and our adult desire to remain protected and childlike. The work addresses the issues on consumerist culture, and presents the theme of rejection and isolation through the use of discarded objects such as shipping cardboard boxes and soda bottles as fundamental support.

Gas lamp in Buffalo Bill's House.
I liked this house tour. The bottom floor is restored to original like when Buffalo Bill lived here, and the upper floors are a museum of Buffalo Bill memorabilia. It's self-guided and free, no stuffy tour guides or outrageous fees, or rules about not taking pictures. My type of place! :D
