This was taken at Great Falls National Park in Virginia about 10 minutes before sunset.

About 3 hours before sunset, the weather was very promising. There were many cirrus clouds streaking through the sky and a slight haze visible in the air, all of which should have brought out some interesting colors during and after sunset. Naturally, as I was driving there, the sky was quickly turning several shades of dark blue and gray as a uniform cloud cover slowly took over the sky.

This was the last bit of color before everything became murky gray.

Taken with a 0.9 ND Lee filter.

1/2 second exposure at f/22.

I was never really happy with the processing I did on this shot when I took it for my project last year, so I've had another go, this time in colour, based on the RogersPark setting in Lightroom. I much prefer this version.

Witnessed a beautiful sunset from a sail boat in Key West on Sept 6th 2009. The trip started with a storm and the day in particular started with rain. But by afternoon rain stopped and as we reached close to the tip, there was lots of sunshine.

Sail boat, amazing sky, a live band, unlimited drinks for 2 hrs. I was so involved in the scene that i didnt realize i was shooting with my shades on and was wondering why the pictures are under exposed. Ha haha. Everything was over by the time i realized it. So i will hav to underexpose some of the shots to make it better.

This one, i just grabbed the two jpegs and stitched them using HUGIN.

Sunset is the daily disappearance of the Sun below the horizon due to Earth's rotation. But it's more than beautiful in the River.

before the rain arrived and before the sun had set this moment of a sky like beam took place. I enjoyed the wide straight down beams and then it angled out a littles at the sides like it was overfull. was an interesting moment!
