I have a number of regrets re these sunset images. We had to leave the Broken Hill Sculpture Park because we wanted to get out to Mundi Mundi Plains near Silverton for the sunset. Unfortunately we left our run too late and on driving away from the sculpture park we realised the sunset would be on us sooner than we had anticipated so we stopped below the Sculpture Park and waited for the sunset which seemed to take forever to evolve. I thought about driving back up to the Sculpture Park, which I should have done, however I was concerned I'd end up with nothing so I hung around down below to get these shots.
I looked for a suitable silhouette but there were no structures, boulders nor trees which may have enhanced the shots.
I also took these shots with my IPhoneX, another bad decision. I had my Canon in the car and should have got it out.
You win some you lose some, such is life.
Sunset View
Located in western Colorado, the Gunnison River carved the Black Canyon over 2000 feet deep in places.
I captured this image of the Starlings beginning to arrive for the murmuration at the Yorkshire Wildlife Trusts' Nature Reserve 'Ripon Wetlands' next to Ripon Race Course.

This was taken at Great Falls National Park in Virginia about 10 minutes before sunset.
About 3 hours before sunset, the weather was very promising. There were many cirrus clouds streaking through the sky and a slight haze visible in the air, all of which should have brought out some interesting colors during and after sunset. Naturally, as I was driving there, the sky was quickly turning several shades of dark blue and gray as a uniform cloud cover slowly took over the sky.
This was the last bit of color before everything became murky gray.
Taken with a 0.9 ND Lee filter.
1/2 second exposure at f/22.
Sunset in Oia Santorini
From this small and beautiful village Oia is only the sea from this point of view and a must see sunset. Everywhere in Santorini people sit down and enjoy the beautiful colors of the sunset.
