When I look back at those evenings where I was scrambling back and forth the lengths of Glacier National park, I only have fond memories of this beautiful heaven on earth wonder! If at all...any of you ever think of going there...please do not think again...just pack your bags and leave...take it from me..you wont regret it even for a second...
This is the magnificent St.Mary Lake with its glacial waters...The sun was just setting to the right of my frame...Instead of going for a direct sunset capture, I thought of using the sunlight to add another perspective..so left Him out of the frame..
Glacier National park is truly a wonderful place to spend your time...and I shudder to think what humans are going to do in the coming years to make the few of the remaining glaciers melt away...One such days where I really want this human race to be done with this world...just like dinosaurs which were really taking a toll on the ecosystem, human beings will soon be selected by nature for extinction and rightly so...I would not mind even if that happens during my time..Only when you venture into such places and hear the things we are doing...knowingly or otherwise do I feel disgusted by my very existence..
Thanks for viewing and I will surely catch up with all your work this weekend! Happy friday :)
Looking back at one of the more beautiful sunsets that we’ve had at El. Franco Lee Park. I live in the flight path of a local airport, so it’s not unusual to capture a plane in my photos from time to time. Sunset capture taken at El. Franco Lee Park.

... amazing how fast the light can explode in just seconds there at sunset.
Captured with the new Sigma 14mm lens and the ICE 150mm 6 Stop ND Filter to smooth out the water ... there were small waves from boat traffic on the river. The extended shutter work helps bring out some of the reflections.
Here’s a Vertorama of Table Mountain shortly after sunset… captured on Sunday evening at Milnerton beach.
As many of you will already know… this is a subject that I’ve shot over and over and over again!! I’ve got at least a dozen sunset shots taken from this beach and composed exactly like this. But with a sky as amazing as this one… I’m sorry to say… I couldn’t possibly ignore it!!
So here is my thirteenth take on the “Table Mountain at Sunset” theme… heh heh… I now have enough shots for a calendar (12 months plus a cover shot)!
Nikon D300, Sigma 10-20mm at 14mm, aperture of f9, with a 1/40th second exposure.

another beautiful sunset captured by Lily Lake in Lakemoor, Illinois...
seen in Explore 09/02/2014 #419 highest position...
Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.
Taken, June 2013.
I prefer the exposure for the fountains in the sunset capture but I like the overall lighting for the blue hour image. Hence, I am posting both.

Went down after work for half hour to visit my Dad ... and catch the sunset. Captured this at f/16 to get the sun star as it was going down across the river.
Captured with the 9 Stop ND to get the water smoothed out just a little.
A colorful sunset captured at Mjelle just outside Bodø, Norway last week. Got fantastic colors in the sky this night with just the right amount of clouds. Remember you are always welcome to drop by my Facebook page for more pictures. www.facebook.com/GauteFroysteinPhotography

Another sunset capture from Bovisands.
The sky was incredibly beautiful and I just wanted to float up there and drift on the clouds.
I believe they are some form of Allocumulus stratiformis but if anyone knows for sure please let me know.
Unfortunately the tanker was not in the best of positions and throughout my stay this seemed to be his preferred position.
Thank you for viewing and any comments.
Almost Off The Wall Magnificent Florida Sunset Captured Off The Wall At Home On Tampa Bay - IMRAN™
Wordplay intended, and literal. I literally had the Nikon D850 perched on the edge of the swimming pool waterfall & almost ready to fall off the wall on Tampa Bay at my blessed Apollo Beach home as I captured this HDR almost "off the wall" 'unreal' really really real sunset. A magnificent combination of deep Azure sky, shallow blue waters, vivid green palm trees, glowing golden clouds, and burning red hot sun created this magic. A boat passed by the tranquility of the scene to be etched in the digital history of our planet. Another moment to bow my head in prayer and gratitude at Maghreb hour as the Muslim holiday of Eid was starting.

This picture was shot on a tripod with 4 sets of three exposures (-2..0..+2 EV). Stitched this panorama in Photoshop using Photomerge. Used Photomatix to create the HDR with tone mapping and detail enhanced. I increased the overall saturation with Hue/Saturation in Photoshop. Curve adjustment to increase the overall contrast. 1 layer mask in soft light mode at 50% gray, using brush tool to lighten and darken some areas of the image, to bring out details. Used Nik Sharpener Pro to sharpen image.

A little boy has some great fun in looking and picking up with his bare hand some jellyfish beneath the shallow waters, and he does it along with another boy about his age (not shown) for several long minutes until sunset.
Captured from a village seashore in Subic, Zambales, Philippines.
I was up in the harbor tower waiting for sunset and noticed these young ladies holding their cellphones up for a sunset capture. I hurried down and got behind them and asked if they minded being in my shot and they said sure but their cells did not show but I will try it again....I enjoyed the results all the same! Blessings to your weekend my friends! ~Sam
A dramatic sunset captured from Sankri, a small village in Garhwal Himalayas, India, where from the trek starts for Har Ki Dun
It took me a while to get in sync with this Snowy Egret as he hunted just before sunset. Captured using manual focus.

The last 2 nights have seen me outside at sunset capturing the evening light. These reflections on the water were the beginning of a stunning sunset.

Two golden hours somewhere between sunrise and sunset. Both are set with 60 diamond minutes. No reward is offered. They are gone forever.

Again, I would like to thank everyone for your support, views, faves and comments!
A nice sunset, captured on my old but trusty Canon S100, one of the early prosumer compact camera pioneers. It's been superseded by iPhones but I still like using it.

If the tree branches could talk , I think they'd say to the sun, "Okay, gotcha!'
The orange in the center was reflection of the sun the Mississippi River... ; )
Have a wonderful day everybody!
Most sunsets are golden. However, I decided to do an unusual makeover for this sunset capture. Can you let me know if it works for you, and what emotion does it evoke in you?

A variation of the rising clouds in an Icelandic mountainside valley at sunset.
Captured in Oct. 2014 with Olympus E-M10. Edited this morning on the desktop in Photoshop. Where I first created the Pano from 3 images and did needed repairs. Then into Viveza for fine-tuning colors an sharpness. Then converted to black and white in Alien Skin's Exposure x. I used two different film type with my own setting then layered them with with Blend Mode adjustments.

Location: Tidal pool at Camps Bay beach
Description: On Wednesday afternoon I met up with Neil from Alderney, who is in Cape Town on business this week. After showing him a couple of the (obligatory) tourist viewing points, we headed out to Camps Bay to shoot the sunset.
Capturing the best compositions sometimes does include the taking of risks. I immediately realized the potential of this low tidal pool wall… but I also immediately realized that there was a good chance that I would get caught unawares by a rogue wave. Should I take a chance…? Hell yes!!
Did I get wet…? Hell yes!!!
Tip: Just because the waves no longer appear to be breaking over the wet rocks that you’re standing on… doesn’t mean that you’re not going to get soaked!

Equipment: Nikon D300 (Sigma 10-20mm)
Date: October 2008
Taken at the end of a long day a couple of weeks ago.
I wanted to post a sunset picture this morning, but I couldn’t quite make up my mind which one to post. This was taken during the same sunset captured here.
Work will keep me busy most of the day. I’ll try to make my rounds later this evening.
Happy Monday!
Sunset Grackles - Florida Everglades U.S.A.
Palm Beach County, Florida - Winter Moment
'New Years Day' - January 1st, 2022
*[left-double-click for a closer-look - silhouettes]
*[fly-by over the sawgrass - sunset by the river]
*[I knew there was something about this image that I liked but
I couldn't quite put my finger on it; this simple-sunset-capture
seems to have 'six' layers/levels to it!; the river, the sawgrass,
the birds, the sun, the clouds, and the high-sky/sunrays. Cool!]
SUNSET - Florida Everglades U.S.A.
Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge
Clear Winter Sky - Boat-tailed Grackles
South Florida - Palm Beach County, FL
Boat-tailed Grackles are large, lanky songbirds with rounded crowns, long legs, and fairly long, pointed bills. Males have very long tails that make up almost half their body length and they typically hold them folded in a V-shape, like the keel of a boat.
The glossy blue-black males are hard to miss as they haul their ridiculously long tails around or display them from marsh grasses or trees. They are so common Everglades guides nicknamed them swamp rats! They are all over the Everglades! Fun to observe.
