Here's another sunset pic from my trip to Brasstown Bald. This was probably my favorite spot I've visited in Georgia yet. Enjoy.

I wanted to take some sunset pics tonight but that never happened. The storm came in fast.

Wonderful Sunset at Cheaha State Park

Here is an old archive shot of the Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona from a couple years back. The light was so intense that evening that it lasted for a good 30-40 minutes and it changes from yellow to orange to red during that time span. It was an ethereal feeling when light is that good. Next year I will have a sunset pic of Mount Rushmore for President Day to show, but this will do for this year. Happy President Day, everyone.

This photo was taken at Thanga Campsite on Bali Pass Trek. Thanga campsite provides excellent view of Garhwal Himalayan peaks such as Swargarohini, Black Peak etc. in Bandarpunch range.

The fog rolling down the river this morning was awesome. I rattled off several shots, but this one grabbed me first, and there’s only time to process one before hitting the town tonight for a friend’s birthday drinks. More sunset pics to follow as well from tonight – another spectacle of nature, and quite different from the last few evenings. [Blogged]

Tanah Lot means Land in The Sea, a perfectly fit name for its unique offshore settings. The silhouette of Pura Tanah Lot is one of the most popular iconic features of Bali. Imagine the image of a Balinese temple (pura) perched high on the rock, facing the wide open ocean.

C'mon back, I saved you a seat. Cheaha State Park ~ Sweet Home Alabama.

My first ever lightning photos.

I went down to the beach to have a quiet dinner and shoot a few sunset pics. A typical summer storm rolled in from the south, moving off shore. I must have shot 40-50 pictures until I got two strikes. They are not the best, but I am realy happy to have finally taken a lightning picture. I will have to read up on suggested settings...

Next time I will bring a tripod.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my photo..... Mike

Goodbye 2019. Thank you for the good and the bad. Finishing the year with a view!!

Here's a almost sunset pic from last weekend at the Dalles. I had the opportunity to use the Carl Zeiss 21mm 2.8 lens over the weekend and pretty much just left that lens on my camera the whole time. Its a fun lens to shoot with.

Hope everybody has good.

Thanks for looking

Vinny:)

Beautiful sunset at Patong Beach, Phuket.

I really liked the sunset along the Santa Rosa Sound last night. It was of the best I've witnessed in a while.

Three Image Hand Held HDR from a drifting boat to prove it can be done.

Taken with JMW Natures Images at Blue Cypress Lake. I was shooting away as the boat was drifting until I got the optimal composition I wanted here.

Since Fraggle Red & Ivan keep killing me with osprey shots in killer light (which I didn't get last week), I'll torture them with some sunset pics and this, a handheld HDR from a moving boat that I'm sure the HDR Queen will be proud of....

After The Storm. Lafayette, Alabama. Taken from our front porch.

Just processing my sunset pics from last night...I was disappointed with them visually but managed to capture some sunspot activity on there...now I'm not a sun observer, as you know ...but was slightly excited by this capture!!

Finally, sunshine again! Later in the week it should warm up some, too. I hope better light and weather will help get me back into the picture-making groove.

I have had the worst time with exposure for sunrise/sunset pics I've tried to take in the last couple of weeks. It's weird, I haven't changed any settings on my camera or anything in how I take the photo, but whereas I used to get nice saturated photos shooting in Aperture priority with auto-exposure and my exposure comp set to zero, now I'm having to bump my exposure compensation down several stops to keep any color in the sky. I can't figure out what I'm doing differently now from earlier sunset/sunrise photos that metered fine with, actually, less attention to the exposure. It's frustrating to drive out to a good spot for a brilliant sky and then be unable to get a good photo because of some mysterious thing I'm doing differently now than before. I'm more aware now, but that awareness isn't helping me make fantastic photos as the light slowly fades. Maybe figuring this out will reinvigorate my enthusiasm for practice.
