Another from the clearout - I'm at 2017, so still a wee bit to go. I thought I had uploaded one of these already, but apparently not.

Not often I go for the standard sunset pic, but I remember on this particular day, I'd had word that an elderly relative had passed away. We were on a short break in Ayr and I took some time to head out by myself at sunset to clear the head. Strange the things you remember.

This is Lake Onalaska at sunset, taken last March, just soon after the ice and snow had melted. I love this location for taking sunset pics!

If you look carefully, you can see what looks like a bridge going across--in actuality, it's just markers in the water, probably to tell boaters to slow down. Anyway, further beyond that is where it enters into the Mississippi River. You've probably seen my posting before--If it weren't for all the islands in the area, it would all be the Mississippi River! ha! Kinda crazy! Hope you all enjoy!

I Laghi di Fusine (Lâts di Fusinis in friulano[1], Weißenfelser Seen, in tedesco, Belopeški jezeri in sloveno) sono costituiti da due laghi, il Lago Superiore ed il Lago Inferiore; situati sul territorio del comune di Tarvisio, sono considerati fra i più begli esempi di lago alpino.

This, too, is taken at the Mississippi River in Trempealeau, Wisconsin. I love living so close to bodies of water! For those of you that don't know, I particularly like sunset pics, and what could be better than sunset pics at a body of water! I love it! This is just a 15-minute drive from our house. The only thing that could be better is living right along this stretch of the river! ha! Of course, that would cost a mint. I'll be content to take a drive out to the river! Hope you enjoy!

Perched on a relatively small flat ground (at ~3000 m) along the Tons River and the waterfall (towards right, not visible in this frame), this was a beautiful place to camp and provided us with this gorgeous view of the valley at sunset.

Wonderful Sunset at Cheaha State Park

Here is an old archive shot of the Horseshoe Bend in Page, Arizona from a couple years back. The light was so intense that evening that it lasted for a good 30-40 minutes and it changes from yellow to orange to red during that time span. It was an ethereal feeling when light is that good. Next year I will have a sunset pic of Mount Rushmore for President Day to show, but this will do for this year. Happy President Day, everyone.

This photo was taken at Thanga Campsite on Bali Pass Trek. Thanga campsite provides excellent view of Garhwal Himalayan peaks such as Swargarohini, Black Peak etc. in Bandarpunch range.

The fog rolling down the river this morning was awesome. I rattled off several shots, but this one grabbed me first, and there’s only time to process one before hitting the town tonight for a friend’s birthday drinks. My first ever lightning photos.

I went down to the beach to have a quiet dinner and shoot a few sunset pics. A typical summer storm rolled in from the south, moving off shore. I must have shot 40-50 pictures until I got two strikes. They are not the best, but I am realy happy to have finally taken a lightning picture. I will have to read up on suggested settings...

Next time I will bring a tripod.

Here's a almost sunset pic from last weekend at the Dalles. I had the opportunity to use the Carl Zeiss 21mm 2.8 lens over the weekend and pretty much just left that lens on my camera the whole time. Its a fun lens to shoot with.
