Sunset captured during my recent trip to Western Australia. Did some color tuning for it to become slightly purplish.
A nice warm summer sunset captured on a single exposure yet keeping a wide dynamic range.
I used a CPL filter, but has hardly any effect when shooting direct into the Sun.

A sunset captured from behind the electric plant. This spot is a good fishing spot because the plant uses the lake water to cool things off, and then they send the water back into Lake Erie. Hence the name, "Hot Waters."

Week 34: Night Sky - Scenic
Took a trip to one of my favorite spots: Durand Eastman Beach and watched a remarkable sunset. Captured this right before the colors on the horizon faded to black. This challenge was very much that for me. My night vision is HORRIBLE and trying to achieve the proper focus was tricky at best. Not the best photo I've ever taken, but I still like it. I'm determined to get the hang of this someday!
Shot in RAW (a first for me!), Manual, ISO 800, f/5, 25 sec, 18mm - 55mm lens @ 18mm
Headed out with my photog buddy, Stacy, in search of some sunset captures. After driving around and ending up with not much to show for it, we stumbled upon this little open area looking over the Illinois River. While we missed actual sundown, we both ended up with some great captures.
Golden slumbers fill your eyes
Smiles awake you when you rise
Sleep pretty darling do not cry
And I will sing a lullabye

This sunset, captured from a moving train was spectaclular. I love the pure golden color. It was the perfect end to a our first travel day. And it was followed by a full moon which continue to light up the nighttime sky.
This was a sunset captured early in the evening. I had darkened the background by mistake and loved the way it highlighted the sun's rays, and didn't notice the plane in the center until I did this.
Haven't done any sunset captures for months now, so yesterday evening looked like it might be a good one.........so sat and waited. Wasn't disappointed.......the cirrus clouds were lovely.
I have few shots from last night......so I hope you don't get too bored as I post some more over the next couple of days :-)
