A natural forest frame from the view overlooking Samish Bay and the San Juan Island cluster. A dark and brooding cloud front moves north to south with periodic rain squalls. The dynamic scene framed by the tree tops was worth standing for 30 minutes in the near freezing wind.
The clouds churn with a fiery mood on the horizon, but even they will soon go dark.
In the distance:
Guemes Island, Cypress Island, Blakely Island, Shaw Island. San Juan and lastly, out of view, Vancouver Island BC.
As we head into the twilight of 2022, we reflect on the past year's ups and downs and contemplate what’s to come in 2023.
