Sunrise over Bartley Reservoir.
Bartley Reservoir is a reservoir for drinking water in Birmingham, England. It covers 460,000 square metres.
It is known as the place where Bill Oddie did much of his early birdwatching, and features in his books (notably Bill Oddie's Gone Birding) and television programmes. His first ever published article, for the West Midland Bird Club's annual report, was about the birds of the reservoir. The reservoir is also home to Bartley Sailing Club.
View of Miami's skyline at sunset from Watson Island. For some reason, I took this photo some time ago and neglected to process it. After processing, I was pleasantly surprised. Hope it is well liked!
This panorama of Grinnell Point at Many Glacier Lodge took a lot of work. My travelling Panasonic Lumix does many things well. However, low light photography and noise are its biggest weaknesses. I took this panaroma early while waiting for the sun to rise and illuminate Mount Grinnell; you may have seen the spectacular result posted here before. However, the magical twilight shortly before the sunrise yielded mystical colors as well. Processing and dealing with the noise issue in Lightroom proved challenging but rewarding in the end.
Cruising the lake Peten Itza at Isla de Flores in Guatemala. Isla de Flores was our base for the tour to the famous "El Tikal." Sunsets at and around the island were nothing short of spectacular.
Photographing the night sky in Bali was nearly impossible. However. the sunsets were spectacular almost every evening. This image was captured during our stay at the Seminyak Beach Resort.
This is one of the top and most accessible locations to capture a spectacular sunrise in Zion National Park. The "Towers of the Virgin" Natlparktravler provide a classic sunrise shot. During the off season, you can drive to the History Museum, walk around the back, find a comfortable spot, seat and let your camera catch the gorgeous images. The Canyon Overlook trail is possibly even better in the morning if you are willing to rise early, drive, find a parking spot and hike the fairly easy mile long trail.
