sunrise from Victoria BC. Northern Cascades of Washington State USA visible in the foreground 0H9A5333
I trekked up to Blue Ridge Summit hoping to catch a nice sunrise for the 4th of July. Unfortunately the actual sunrise wasn't much to behold, there was very little color. But I waited around for the sun to rise into the low clouds, holding out that something might happen with the light. Just as the sun was about to disappear this scene showed up. The layer of humid air hovering above the mountains came to life, creating this glowing line across the horizon. With the hint of mist settled between the mountains I thought it was rather worth the wait.

The 'smoke' seen in this is steam rising from a neigbour's central heating vent. Taken as my standby shot for my Photo a Day in case the day got too busy for anything else

Sunrise over Rijksmuseum with Tulips in the region. This waterbody has tulips only for few weeks in April and I was lucky to be there at the right time.

If you haven't checked it out yet, make sure you take a look at the new website!
I haven't posted two photos so close together in one day for a while, but I posted this shot on Facebook and it was by far the most popular shot I've ever posted there, so I thought that I would share it here as well! This was the sunrise this morning at work, made up of 9 images taken with my iPhone, stitched in AutoStitch and edited in Photo Studio.
Also, I am now on 500px! Follow me over there as well! It's a pretty cool site, but I am definitely still getting used to it!
As always, you can read about the processing I've done on this shot and all my images on on my website.
New blog post today, Looking for business! Check it out if you have a chance!
I hope you all had a great weekend!
I don't mind invitations, but please no big, shiny, flashing, glitter graphics, they will be deleted. Also, please contact me if you would like to use my pictures for any reason, as all rights are reserved. Thanks!

Did one of my 'crazy landscape photographer' trips to Folly Beach yesterday morning with my photography buddy Amy. After a 2:45am departure, we arrived to a downpour and wondering if we would have any chance at a photo. But, after about 30 minutes, the rain stopped and we were able to get out and get out of the car and shoot. I don't think it turned out too bad at all, don't you think?
