Sky above Brno (tonemapped)

The sun is shining while the wind is blowing snow off the trees.

This sharp-shinned hawk was possibly taking a break from a migratory flight south when it roosted in a tree at the east side of my house yesterday. It spent several minutes busily preening itself, and every once in a while glancing around. It was a shame that the light was so bad. I would have loved getting sharper shots against a beautiful blue sky.

"Excuse me,...as you can see I am busy soaking in sunrays at this time, so I'd appreciate you leaving me in peace,..thank you very much"! LOL

The sunrays of success, the beauty of nature.

Tainan, Taiwan

這是去年回台灣時在二寮山下碰到的雲隙光。還記得那天清晨雲層深厚,看不到二寮日出,悻悻然下山時卻遇到了雲隙光,也算是不無小補!

Few more rays of morning before entering the shadows again. I know that the path will lead me there, sooner or later. At least it is with welcoming gateway of light embracing me before falling into darkness.

..ok, I don't like the fence too, but this was the only chance to get the sunrays

Walking through Sandringham Woods I was lucky to find this scene.

Showing the different petal shapes in the centre of a Dahlia.

Last August, I was walking along on a dead-end street and at the very end, there was a planter with a few pink coneflowers in it. What caught my eye was this attractive wasp, a type that I'd never spotted before. I've learned that there are different colour variations of Polistes fuscatus depending on the geographical location, so this explains why it took me quite some time to figure out its ID. I hope to see one again someday.

Thank you for your visits and comments, they're all greatly appreciated. Have a great day!
